Obama’s Chief of Staff Declared the Trump Impeachment Crusade Dead on National TV

Al Green has forced nine impeachment votes against Donald Trump since 2017 – and lost every single one.

Now Obama's own enforcer just went on national television and told Democrats to stop trying.

What Rahm Emanuel said on Meet the Press this weekend should terrify every Democrat planning their midterm strategy.

Al Green Has Filed Nine Trump Impeachment Resolutions and Lost Every Single One

Former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanue sat down with Kristen Welker on NBC Sunday and told Democrats what they did not want to hear.

"You're never going to get an impeachment," he said flatly.

This is Obama's own White House chief of staff – the man Nancy Pelosi reportedly believes will be the 2028 Democrat presidential nominee – going on national television four weeks before the midterms to declare their signature political crusade a dead end.

Emanuel urged Democrats to pursue ethics reforms instead of impeachment, warning that another failed attempt would just prove what voters already believe: that Democrats have nothing to offer but obstruction.

The man spent a decade building that machine – and now he's selling tickets to watch it burn.

The Democrats' impeachment obsession has become an embarrassment even by their own standards.

In September, Texas Rep. Al Green forced his third impeachment vote of Trump's second term alone, accusing Trump of abusing his powers through ICE and Customs and Border Protection enforcement.

The House killed it 232-147.

Dozens of Democrats voted against their own colleague's resolution.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries didn't even vote no – he voted "present," a political coward's way of distancing himself from the circus without having to go on record against it.

Green's effort was so radioactive that Democrat leadership publicly said impeachment was not among the party's immediate priorities days before the vote.

Now the man who wants to lead the Democrat Party in 2028 is saying the same thing.

That is not a political party with a coherent message.

That is a five-alarm fire dressed up as a press tour.

How Democrats Taking the House in 2026 Could Hand Republicans the 2028 Election

Trump already knows exactly what happens if Democrats take the House.

In January, he told Republican lawmakers at the Kennedy Center exactly what was coming: "They'll find a reason to impeach me. I'll get impeached."

He didn't say it with dread – he said it like a man who has been through this twice and already knows how it plays out.

The House impeached Trump twice during his first term and the Senate acquitted him both times – and if anything, it made him stronger. In his second term, not one of Green's attempts has even reached a full House vote.

The Democrat base loves it anyway, and so do the donors. The Left treats every failed impeachment vote like a victory lap – which is exactly why they cannot see the trap they are walking into.

In 1998, Republicans impeached Bill Clinton, convinced the country was with them.

Voters punished them by handing Democrats five House seats in the midterms – the first time a president's party had gained mid-term seats in 64 years.

Newt Gingrich's Congress turned a scandal into a constitutional circus nobody asked for and paid for it at the ballot box.

Democrats are about to run the same play.

If they take the House in November, pressure from their base to impeach Trump will be immediate and overwhelming.

Two years of impeachment hearings, failed Senate votes, and cable news theater – while Americans are paying grocery bills and worrying about crime in their neighborhoods – is not a governing agenda.

It is a 2028 Republican campaign ad.

Emanuel is the only prominent Democrat saying it out loud – but his party does not want strategy right now. They want revenge, and Trump is perfectly happy to let them have it.

Every failed impeachment vote makes him look bulletproof and fires up his base.

Republicans don't even need a 2028 campaign message – Democrats are writing it for them: we governed, they obsessed.

Emanuel is trying to save his party from itself.

They are not listening.
