Jasmine Crockett launched one awful attack on ICE that will haunt her

Jasmine Crockett stepped in it once again.

She let her mouth get the better of her.

And Jasmine Crockett launched one awful attack on ICE that will haunt her.

Crockett calls ICE "modern-day slave patrols" at Minnesota field hearing

Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) stood before cameras in St. Paul, Minnesota and declared ICE agents were operating "modern-day slave patrols."

The comments came during what Democrats called a "field hearing" titled "Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump's Deadly Assault on Minnesota."

Crockett compared ICE operations to Nazi Germany and Jim Crow-era racism while accusing the Trump administration of being "an abuser."

"Because when we look at other places, say places that did things like, oh, you know, go door to door looking for people as they had to hide out, say, in an attic, does that sound familiar to anybody?" Crockett asked, invoking Holocaust imagery.

She then compared ICE agents to racist law enforcement from the Civil Rights era.

"Or the images that I have seen of people being attacked by law enforcement, whether we're talking about dogs or fire hoses, it seems very reminiscent of something that we have seen before in this country," Crockett continued.

The Texas Democrat defended her race-baiting by claiming critics were attacking her for being "too black."

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem already slammed Crockett for slave patrol comparison

Crockett's slave patrol comparison wasn't new.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem already called out Crockett for making the exact same claim during previous testimony.

Crockett doubled down anyway.

"I know my good black history," Crockett claimed. "And so when I look and I say, and I will say it loud and proud, because the DHS secretary had a few choice words for me, but this looks like modern-day slave patrols."

She accused the Supreme Court of sanctioning racial profiling by allowing ICE to conduct immigration enforcement.

"The last time that I checked, ICE is only supposed to be doing immigration enforcement," Crockett said. "And right now we have a record number of U.S. citizens that have not only been arrested, but as we saw with Renee, that have been killed, that have been maimed, that have been bullied, that have been brutalized, that have been unlawfully arrested."

The reference to "Renee" was Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent on January 7th after she tried to run over the federal officer with her vehicle.

Crockett compares Trump ICE tactics to domestic abuser

Crockett compared the Trump administration to a domestic abuser.

"Y'all, we are living with an abuser right now," Crockett declared. "That is who Trump and his administration is."

She laughably claimed Americans were suffering from PTSD because of Trump's immigration enforcement.

"And frankly, I think we all have a little bit of PTSD, but if you know anything about a domestic abuser, the one thing about them that you need to know is that they are some of the biggest cowards that you will ever find," Crockett stated.

She called on Americans to "fight back" against Trump's constitutional authority to enforce immigration law.

"What they can't stand is when you actually fight back," Crockett said.

Crockett claimed Trump was destroying American democracy.

"The reality is that we have an administration that has decided that they are going to ignore our constitutional rights, and we will not stand for it," Crockett concluded. "Otherwise, our democracy will fall."

Texas Senate polls show James Talarico beating Crockett in Democrat primary

Crockett's slave patrol rhetoric is hurting her back home.

The second-term congresswoman jumped into the Texas Senate race in December.

Polling shows she's got problems.

An Emerson College poll found state Representative James Talarico leading Crockett 47% to 38% in the Democrat primary.

A Change Research poll found 49% of Texas voters said they would "definitely not vote" for her.

That's higher than any other candidate in the race.

The same poll showed Crockett with a 40% unfavorable rating compared to just 33% favorable.

Talarico's numbers were better.

Crockett's problem isn't name recognition.

Voters know her and don't like what they see.

Comparing ICE agents to Nazis and slave patrols isn't policy criticism.

Crockett opens her mouth with another outrageous comparison, and Texas voters get another reason to reject her Senate bid.

Even Texas Democrats are getting tired of her outrageous behavior.

Crockett thought her viral social media moments would translate into primary success.

Ranting and raving like she’s auditioning for MSNBC is wearing thin with Texas primary voters.
