Democrats and their media allies are using increasing dangerous rhetoric.
They want to put a bullseye on conservatives.
And Megyn Kelly took off the gloves after CNN launched this vicious attack.
CNN allowed dangerous smears that paint targets on Trump officials
The media painted a target on Stephen Miller's back and radical leftists tried to act on it.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller endured months of harassment that forced his family to flee their Arlington, Virginia home for the safety of a military base.
CNN host Abby Phillip sat silently in October while left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch called Miller "a white supremacist" and "a Nazi Jew" on her "I've Had It" podcast.¹
"Stephen Miller is a white supremacist. I mean, he is. And he's basically running the White House," Welch ranted. "And then you have these real sociopaths that are real antisemites, true white supremacists like Stephen Miller. And even though he's Jewish, he's like a Nazi Jew."
Phillip's response? "Well, look, I can't speak to what Stephen Miller's motivations are."²
Call it what it was: cowardice dressed up as objectivity.
Megyn Kelly destroyed Phillip on her SiriusXM show for allowing such dangerous rhetoric to go unchallenged.
"You're such an ahole! I'm sorry, but Abby Phillip is a f*ing a**hole!" Kelly erupted. "She let her call him a Nazi Jew and just said, 'I'm sorry, but I can't speak to what his motivations are.' What a cowardly dodge, just to try to maintain some semblance of objectivity."³
Kelly explained exactly what any responsible journalist should have done in that moment.
"The only proper response to that is, 'Come on, hold it. Hold it. We can criticize his immigration policy all day long if you want. Don't call him a Nazi Jew. That's disgusting,'" Kelly stated.
The Miller family paid the price for CNN's reckless rhetoric
Left-wing activists distributed flyers throughout their Arlington neighborhood listing the family's home address and labeling Stephen Miller a "Nazi."³
A local activist group called Arlington Neighbors United for Humanity chalked messages on the public sidewalks near their home.
Messages like "Stephen Miller is destroying democracy" and "no white nationalism" appeared outside the house where three young children lived.⁴
Twenty-four hours after Charlie Kirk's assassination, things got worse.
Left-wing activist Barbara Wien distributed flyers throughout the neighborhood with Stephen Miller's home address printed on them.⁵
Then Wien walked past the Miller residence and spotted Katie Miller on the front porch with the kids.
Wien made direct eye contact and gave her the "I'm watching you" gesture — pointing two fingers from her eyes toward the house.
"What happens when you have little kids who are impossible to get in and out of car seats?" Katie Miller asked during an appearance on the "Ruthless" podcast. "How many parents can relate to their kids chalking or learning to ride a bike… and your heads are not on a swivel looking around for who's coming fast with a high-powered weapon?"⁶
The harassment became so severe that the Millers sold their $3.75 million home and relocated to military housing along with at least six other senior Trump administration officials.⁷
Democrat judges blocked FBI attempts to investigate Wien, despite evidence she violated Virginia's anti-doxxing laws.
Magistrate Judge Lindsey Vaala, who donated to Obama and Biden's campaigns, denied the FBI's request for a search warrant.⁸
Arlington County Commonwealth's Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti actively worked to limit what state police could share with federal investigators.⁹
Katie Miller confronts Phillip about the double standard
Katie Miller had enough of CNN's hypocrisy and called out Phillip directly during a heated exchange on "CNN NewsNight."
"You host people on your show all the time who call my husband and myself a Nazi," Miller told Phillip.¹⁰
Miller pointed out that Phillip regularly platforms Jennifer Welch, who has repeatedly smeared Stephen Miller as a white nationalist and Nazi.
When Phillip tried to claim this was "different," Katie Miller wasn't having it.
"Excuse me, you have Jennifer Welch on your show very often and you've never pushed back as she has called my husband a white nationalist," Miller fired back. "It's not different, Abby."¹¹
CNN gave a platform to rhetoric that helped create the environment where activists felt emboldened to harass the Millers at their home the day after Charlie Kirk was murdered.
The network can't claim innocence when the language they allowed to go unchallenged led directly to real-world harassment and threats against a family with young children.
Megyn Kelly recognized what Phillip either couldn't see or refused to acknowledge – that CNN's reckless rhetoric has consequences.
"Abby Phillip finds absolutely nothing wrong with what that woman said," Kelly noted. "I guarantee you she agrees with all of it. She is a fan of this Welch person, and so she wants her to come on her show."¹²
The radical Left learned from Charlie Kirk's assassination that their violent rhetoric can have deadly consequences.
CNN chose to platform that same kind of dangerous language anyway, and the Miller family paid the price.
