Pam Bondi Just Made One Argument That Could Destroy Every Gun Right Trump Promised

President Trump promised gun owners he'd be the most pro-Second Amendment president in history.

Gun Owners of America warned Trump that Pam Bondi would betray that promise.

And Pam Bondi just made one argument that could destroy every gun right Trump promised.

GOA Warned Trump About Bondi From Day One

Gun Owners of America sounded the alarm the moment Trump nominated Pam Bondi for Attorney General.

Bondi helped then-Governor Rick Scott draft Florida's red flag gun confiscation law after the Parkland shooting in 2018 — a law that lets police seize firearms from gun owners without due process.¹

"I've had my solicitor general on it for three days now working on it," Bondi told President Trump at the White House in 2018. "We've been rewriting it, and we're going to bring in something called the gun violence restraining order."²

That's gun confiscation without a trial.

Bondi also defended Florida's ban on 18-to-20-year-olds buying rifles and the state's unconstitutional open carry ban in court.³

Florida Carry's general counsel called her tenure "marked by anti-gun decisions."⁴

The National Rifle Association clashed with Bondi over her defense of post-Parkland gun control, accusing her of "bullying" tactics in court.⁵

But Senate Republicans ignored every warning from gun rights groups and confirmed her anyway.

Now gun owners are paying the price.

Trump's DOJ Defends 90-Year-Old Gun Registration Law

Pam Bondi's Department of Justice just filed a stunning 48-page brief defending the National Firearms Act of 1934 — one of the oldest and most despised gun control laws on the books.⁶

Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" eliminated the $200 tax stamp on suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and other NFA items earlier this year.

Congress made it clear — no tax means the registration requirements tied to that tax should disappear too.

But Bondi's DOJ argued the exact opposite, claiming the government can force Americans to register firearms even when there's no tax at all.⁷

"In an ultimate betrayal of the 2nd Amendment, the Trump admin is DEFENDING the archaic National Firearms Act of 1934," Gun Owners of America posted on X.⁸

This is exactly what GOA warned would happen.

You sent Trump money. You knocked on doors. You stood in line to vote.

And his Attorney General just used your vote to defend the gun control you elected him to destroy.

Bondi Uses Left-Wing Talking Points Against Gun Owners

The brief reads like it was written by Michael Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety.

Bondi's lawyers defended the NFA's restrictions on "particularly dangerous and easily concealable weapons that 'could be used readily and efficiently by criminals.'"⁹

That logic justifies banning every handgun in America.

"Pam Bondi just made the argument for banning EVERY HANDGUN IN AMERICA," GOA warned.¹⁰

Handguns are concealable — and anti-gun politicians have targeted them for decades using identical reasoning.

Bondi just handed them the legal framework.

The DOJ also referred to some NFA firearms as "weapons of war" — a phrase exclusively used by gun control advocates.¹¹

That's Kamala Harris' language. That's Joe Biden's talking point.

Gun Owners of America accused Bondi of "channeling the Brady Foundation and Everytown hysteria."¹²

Trump campaigned on dismantling Biden's gun control agenda.

His Attorney General is defending it instead.

The brief also claimed Congress has virtually unlimited power to regulate firearms under the Commerce Clause and Necessary and Proper Clause.

"Pam Bondi has just taken the most expansive view of federal power since FDR," GOA declared.¹³

That's the same argument Democrats use to justify every gun control law Congress dreams up.

Bondi Directly Violates Trump's Executive Order

President Trump signed an executive order in February directing his Attorney General to protect Second Amendment rights.

That order commanded Bondi to "examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens."¹⁴

Instead, Bondi's DOJ is fighting in court to preserve federal gun registration.

She's not protecting your rights. She's defending gun control.

And she doesn't have to do this.

When Texas sued the Trump Administration after Congress reduced the Obamacare penalty to zero dollars, the DOJ declined to defend that law and joined Texas instead.¹⁵

In Washington, DC, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro refused to enforce the District's magazine ban, arguing "it is the United States's position that [DC's magazine ban] is unconstitutional."¹⁶

Bondi could have done the same thing.

She defended gun registration anyway.

Thirty-one members of Congress sent Bondi a letter on November 13 urging her not to defend the NFA.¹⁷

Representative Andrew Clyde of Georgia argued that with the tax eliminated, the law can no longer be enforced.

Bondi ignored them and filed the brief anyway.

This Is Why GOA Warned You About Bondi

Gun Owners of America told Trump exactly who Pam Bondi was before he nominated her.

"Pam Bondi has praised the Parkland gun control — which included 'red flag' gun confiscation orders, a gun ban for 18-20 year olds, and a useless bump stock ban," GOA stated in January.¹⁸

"She also helped unrepentant then-Governor Rick Scott draft a 'gun violence restraining order,'" GOA warned.¹⁹

GOA was right. Senate Republicans were wrong.

And now every gun owner in America is paying for their mistake.

The backlash from gun rights groups has been swift and brutal.

Gun Owners of America is urging members to call the White House and demand Trump force Bondi to stop fighting gun owners in court.²⁰

"These moves by the DOJ against the Second Amendment fly in the face of what President Trump promised to gun owners during his campaign," GOA stated.²¹

Texas Gun Rights went even further, questioning whether Bondi is even in control of her own department.

"This means one of two things: either Bondi is not in control of her own department, or the swamp is going behind her back to carry out anti-gun operations," Texas Gun Rights warned.²²

Either way, gun owners lose.

You were right to be suspicious when Trump nominated someone who helped write Florida's red flag law.

Senate Republicans ignored you and confirmed her anyway.

And now Bondi is using the Department of Justice to defend the gun control you voted against.

Trump won a mandate in November with overwhelming support from gun owners who believed his promises.

His Attorney General is using your vote to justify federal gun registration.

If Trump doesn't get Bondi to reverse course immediately, the damage will be permanent.

This isn't what you voted for. This isn't what Trump promised. This is a betrayal.
