The Left’s war on America’s founding documents just escalated to a shocking new level.
Parents discovered what radical educators have been doing behind closed doors.
And an Alaska school got busted for this awful attack on the Constitution.
Parent discovers school district slapped warning label on the Constitution
Karen Waldron’s daughter brought home a pocket-sized pamphlet from school containing the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.
Nothing unusual there – except for the sticker plastered on the back.
“The Anchorage School District does not endorse these materials or the viewpoint expressed in them.”¹
Let that sink in for a moment.
A government school district just told students it doesn’t endorse the Constitution itself.
“I was honestly stunned,” Waldron posted on Facebook. “These aren’t controversial documents, they are the foundation of our country and what our students are supposed to be learning about.”²
Alaska Attorney General Stephen Cox didn’t mince words when parents raised the alarm.
“Alaska law requires school board members to sign—and swear to support and defend—the U.S. Constitution,” Cox explained.³
The pamphlets were produced by Hillsdale College and distributed by the Daughters of the American Revolution during Constitution Week in September.
They contain zero commentary – just the actual text of America’s founding documents.
School district caught in brazen lie about “mistake”
The Anchorage School District initially tried to blame the Daughters of the American Revolution, claiming they placed the disclaimers themselves.
That lie lasted about five minutes.
District spokesperson M.J. Thim quickly changed his story, claiming the pamphlets got processed through a system that adds disclaimers to promotional flyers.⁴
Here’s the problem with that excuse.
Records show a 2021 email to then-superintendent Deena Bishop raising concerns about the exact same stickers on the exact same booklets.⁵
They got caught doing this four years ago and nobody stopped it.
The district’s own form for outside materials explicitly requires all flyers to include: “The Anchorage School District does not endorse this program/these materials or the viewpoints expressed therein.”⁶
Someone consciously decided the Constitution qualified as material requiring that warning label.
That’s not bureaucratic bungling – that’s a deliberate attack.
School board members violating their oaths of office
Ask yourself this question: What specific viewpoints in the Constitution does the Anchorage School District find so dangerous that students need a warning label?
Free speech? The right to bear arms? Protection against unlawful searches? The abolition of slavery?
Every school board member in Alaska swears an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Yet their district officially refuses to endorse it.
That’s a direct violation of their oath.
And nobody’s getting fired.
The district issued an apology, promised to “review procedures,” and that’s apparently good enough.
Meanwhile, these same administrators will happily distribute materials promoting radical gender ideology and critical race theory without any disclaimers whatsoever.
But the actual Constitution? That gets a warning label.
Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn nailed it when he told Fox News that “in recent decades, the way our government operates has departed from the Constitution.”⁷
“It has become less limited, and our liberties less secure,” Arnn explained. “At the same time, true civic education in America—education in the Constitution—has largely died out.”⁸
Dead out is putting it mildly.
Civic education hasn’t just died – it’s been murdered by radical leftist administrators who view America’s founding documents as threats to their radical agenda.
The Anchorage School District isn’t even hiding it anymore.
They’re openly telling students: “We don’t endorse the Constitution.”
And they think parents are stupid enough to believe it was just a paperwork mix-up.
Parents need to wake up to what’s happening in government schools across this country.
The radical Left isn’t interested in teaching kids about America’s founding principles – they’re actively working to destroy them.
One disclaimer sticker at a time.
