But the GUARD Act creates a narrow exception that would allow the National Guard to enforce federal immigration law exclusively.
This includes apprehending and detaining individuals in the country illegally, executing removal orders, and conducting border security operations.
Bill includes death penalty for killing immigration officers

Anyone convicted of killing an immigration officer would face either execution or life imprisonment under the GUARD Act.
