Trump’s federal crime crackdown in Washington, D.C. has been the talk of the nation since it launched earlier this month.
Democrats predicted it would be a disaster and complained about "federal overreach."
But Trump just hit one milestone in D.C. that left a Democrat mayor looking like a complete fool.
Trump’s D.C. Crime Crackdown Shatters 1,000 Arrest Mark
The numbers don’t lie – and they’re making Democrat politicians look ridiculous.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Monday that arrests under President Trump’s federal crime crackdown in Washington, D.C. have blown past 1,000, with the nation’s capital marking its 12th consecutive day without a single homicide.¹
Just on Sunday alone, federal agents made 86 arrests and seized 10 illegal guns, bringing the totals to 1,007 arrests and 111 weapons taken off the streets.
"What does that mean? They can’t be used to shoot people, to kill people," Pirro explained on Fox & Friends. "And on top of all of that, we’ve got a government now where the people in D.C. are feeling safer. They know that there is a president who’s looking to protect them."²
The timing of these results is perfect – Trump’s operation began quietly on August 7th with his "Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful" task force.³
He escalated the operation on August 11th by temporarily seizing federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department under emergency powers, marking the first such move in U.S. history.⁴
FBI Director Kash Patel reported that 26 of Sunday’s arrests came from FBI operations alone, including five major drug seizures.⁵
Chicago Mayor Gets Caught Lying About Trump’s Success
Here’s where it gets really interesting – and embarrassing for the Left.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a Democrat, tried to downplay Trump’s massive success by claiming that only nine arrests had been made under the federal crackdown.⁶
Nine arrests.
The actual number? Over 1,000.
Johnson wasn’t just wrong – he was off by more than 99%.
Johnson also said he would push back against reports that Trump is considering deploying the same operation in Chicago, calling the Trump administration’s efforts "uncoordinated, uncalled-for and unsound."⁷
Pirro had the perfect response to Johnson’s pathetic attempt to lie about Trump’s results.
"The good news is that they’re afraid to commit crimes when you have an increased law enforcement people in the community, especially the crime-ridden community, they’re saying thank you," Pirro stated. "They’re afraid to commit crimes because they know that being accountable – Johnson ought to hope that the president comes there to clean up the mess in Chicago."⁸
The Numbers That Prove Law and Order Works
Here’s what Johnson doesn’t want people to know about his own city.
Chicago has topped the nation in homicides for 13 straight years, logging 573 murders in 2024 alone.⁹
Meanwhile, Washington, D.C. – once "one of the most violent cities in the world" according to Pirro – has gone 12 straight days without a single homicide under Trump’s crackdown.¹⁰
So far this year, D.C. has had 101 homicides total, but for the last 12 days, nothing.¹¹
"Yep. Policing works," Pirro said.¹²
The operation has brought together a massive coalition of federal agencies – the National Guard, FBI, U.S. Marshals, ATF, DEA, Capitol Police and Park Police – all working alongside local officers in crime-ridden neighborhoods.¹³
Some National Guard units have even been authorized to carry firearms, with armed troops already observed on patrol.¹⁴
What This Really Means
Look, this is exactly what our audience has been saying for years – when you actually enforce the law, crime goes down.
Trump didn’t need some complicated new program or billions in social spending.
He just deployed federal agents to arrest the bad guys and take their guns.
Twelve days without a homicide in a city that was hemorrhaging violence just weeks ago.
Over 1,000 arrests and 111 illegal guns off the streets.
Criminals too scared to operate because they know accountability is real again.
And what’s the Democrat response? Lie about the numbers and complain about "federal overreach."
Brandon Johnson claiming only nine arrests were made when the real number is over 1,000 tells you everything about how Democrats operate.
They’d rather see their cities burn than admit Trump was right about law and order.
But the residents of D.C. know the truth – they’re sleeping better at night because there’s finally a President who puts their safety first.
Trump just signed an executive order Monday targeting Washington, D.C. that instructs police to charge suspects with federal crimes and hold them in federal custody to avoid the disaster of cashless bail.¹⁵
He also signed another order threatening to revoke federal funding from jurisdictions that continue using cashless bail policies.¹⁶
This is what happens when you have a President who actually wants to protect American citizens instead of coddling criminals.
Johnson can keep lying about the numbers all he wants.
The families in D.C. who haven’t lost a loved one to violence in the past 12 days know exactly who deserves the credit.
