The Biden administration’s war on free speech just got dealt its final blow.
After months of promises and half-measures, the deep state censorship apparatus has been completely dismantled.
And the State Department just delivered one crushing announcement that has leftist censors scrambling for cover.
Trump Administration Destroys Biden’s Speech Police Once and For All
The State Department officially shuttered the Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference framework on Tuesday – the final piece of Joe Biden’s massive censorship operation that targeted American conservatives for four long years.
Acting Under Secretary of State Darren Beattie told The Daily Wire that his office was dismantling every tool, every process, and every agreement that Biden’s speech police used to silence patriots across the country.
This wasn’t some foreign terrorism unit like they claimed.
The so-called Global Engagement Center became a weapon aimed squarely at The Daily Wire, The Federalist, and conservative voices nationwide.
Beattie’s office found that the framework "devolved into tools for political censorship instead of protecting Americans from foreign adversarial propaganda."
In other words, they got caught red-handed using taxpayer money to silence the very people they’re supposed to serve.
The Daily Wire and The Federalist had to sue Biden’s State Department in February 2024 just to expose how these bureaucrats were working with "fact-checker" groups like NewsGuard to suppress conservative media.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the closure back in April, but the deep state kept dragging their feet with "loose ends" and bureaucratic delays.
Not anymore.
Biden’s Censorship Machine Caught Targeting Americans, Not Foreigners
Here’s where this gets really ugly.
The Global Engagement Center was supposedly created to fight foreign disinformation from terrorists and hostile nations.
Instead, Beattie revealed they were submitting lists of Americans to Twitter – now X – and demanding censorship.
"Many times when officials would submit names to Twitter, they would encourage censorship of an individual and then be told by Twitter, ‘Hey, this isn’t some Chinese group, this isn’t some Russian group. This was Bob from Minnesota. What are you talking about?’" Beattie explained.

That’s who Biden’s speech police were targeting.
Not Russian bots or Chinese propaganda accounts – just regular Americans who dared to question COVID policies, immigration enforcement, or foreign policy decisions.
The GEC used what Beattie called an "indirect approach to censorship" by funding third-party organizations that would demonetize conservative websites and attack "certain narrative perspectives on COVID, on immigration, on foreign policy, as simply malign as a matter of foreign influence when in fact these were entirely legitimate points of view that often came from Americans."
They couldn’t silence conservatives directly, so they paid other groups to do their dirty work.
Classic deep state operation.
The Twitter Files Were Just the Beginning
But wait – it gets better.
Beattie’s office is conducting what he calls an "extremely laborious, comprehensive, meticulous transparency review" that will expose the full scope of Biden’s censorship operation.
The first batch of documents will be released within the next few weeks, covering "hundreds of thousands of emails that will more specifically and systematically document exactly the kinds of nefarious activities that the GEC was involved in in this unfortunate chapter of America’s history."
Think the Twitter Files were explosive?
This is going to make those revelations look like a warm-up act.
Beattie wouldn’t say exactly how they’ll release the information, but he promised the approach would be "entirely appropriate and very satisfying as well."
Translation: heads are going to roll, and the American people are finally going to see just how deep this censorship rabbit hole goes.
Look, Here’s What This Really Shows About the Deep State
You want to know what this story proves beyond any shadow of a doubt?
The deep state bureaucrats who spent four years calling Trump supporters "threats to democracy" were the real threat all along.
They took an office that was supposed to protect Americans from foreign enemies and turned it into a weapon against American citizens.
They worked hand in glove with Big Tech companies to suppress conservative voices, silence COVID questions, and attack anyone who challenged their narrative.
And they did it all with your tax dollars.
The fact that Biden’s people set up agreements with foreign countries to help facilitate this censorship operation shows just how far they were willing to go.
They weren’t just violating the First Amendment – they were enlisting foreign governments in their war on American free speech.
This isn’t about partisan politics anymore.
This is about whether we’re going to have a free country where Americans can speak their minds without government bureaucrats deciding what’s acceptable.
Trump’s Executive Order on Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship wasn’t just campaign rhetoric – it was a declaration of war against the censorship industrial complex.

The same office that was once run by Richard Stengel – a guy who openly talked about "moderating" the First Amendment – is now being completely dismantled by patriots who actually believe in free speech.
