A major controversy erupted that has both sides of the political aisle talking.

CNN analyst Scott Jennings torched former FBI Director James Comey and the entire Left with one comment.

Because Scott Jennings just indicted the Left with one brutal social media post

The ’86 47′ controversy explodes

The firestorm began when James Comey posted an Instagram photo showing seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647.” The seemingly innocent beach photo quickly ignited outrage when many saw it as a thinly veiled threat against President Donald Trump.

For those unfamiliar with the code, “86” is slang commonly used in restaurants meaning to remove or get rid of something, while “47” references Trump as the 47th President. Together, the message has been interpreted as a call to “get rid of” President Trump.

This isn’t just conservative paranoia. As Karol Markowicz detailed in the New York Post, the “8647” symbol has become increasingly prevalent at anti-Trump protests nationwide.

“In Holland, Mich., Redmond, Ore., and elsewhere, grinning marchers wore shirts and carried placards emblazoned with the number ‘8647,’ pairing the old slang term for murder with a 47 for Trump,” Markowicz reported.

The article noted that one protester proudly displaying the “8647” message stood directly alongside Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison during a Minneapolis event.

Even more disturbing, protesters in Denver paraded a life-size guillotine with the message “Hands off or heads off” – a chilling reference to political violence that echoes some of history’s darkest moments.

Jennings condemns the violent rhetoric

Scott Jennings, never one to mince words, shared the New York Post article on social media and delivered a stark assessment of what he was seeing.

“The Left has violence in its heart,” Jennings wrote. “Ugly stuff.”

His comments cut through the usual political noise and named what many have been reluctant to call out – the increasingly violent rhetoric coming from some quarters of the political Left.

The Comey controversy follows a pattern of concerning incidents that Markowicz highlighted in her article, including expressions of support for accused Trump assassination attempter Luigi Mangione and widespread vandalism targeting Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

A disturbing pattern emerges

What makes Jennings’ comments particularly noteworthy is that they came from within CNN, a network not typically known for criticizing left-wing extremism.

This incident with Comey is especially troubling given his former position as FBI Director. As someone who once led the nation’s premier law enforcement agency, his apparent endorsement of coded language that many interpret as threatening violence raises serious questions.

The “8647” symbol has become increasingly mainstream at anti-Trump rallies across the country, with protesters openly displaying what appears to be a call for harm to come to the President.

The situation has raised concerns about a double standard in how threats of political violence are treated by the mainstream media depending on which side of the political aisle they originate from.

Jennings’ willingness to call out this behavior demonstrates that at least one voice at CNN is prepared to speak honestly about political extremism regardless of its source.

Media response remains muted

While Jennings spoke out forcefully, many mainstream media outlets have given minimal coverage to the “8647” controversy.

This stands in stark contrast to how they use even the slightest excuse to accuse individuals on the right of inciting political violence.

The situation serves as a reminder of the increasingly heated political climate in America, where coded messages and subtle threats have replaced civil discourse for some political actors.

Jennings’ comments suggest that this type of rhetoric isn’t just coming from fringe elements, but has gained a concerning level of acceptance among certain segments of the political left.

As the political season heading into the 2026 Midterms heats up, Jennings’ warning about violence in the hearts of some on the Left may prove to be more prescient than many would like to believe.
