The Hollywood stars are coming out all-in for Kamala Harris.

Democrats are trying to recruit more celebrities to stump for her.

And Oprah’s jaw dropped when her pal tried to help Kamala Harris with a massive fraud that instantly backfired.

Oprah’s friend tried to use a hoax to get viewers to watch Democrat Convention

Rumors were swirling on the final day of the Democratic National Convention that there would be a surprise celebrity or politician on stage before Vice President Kamala Harris gave her acceptance speech.

Stories circulated on social media that hip hop star Beyonce, pop megastar Taylor Swift, or former President George W. Bush could be the surprise speaker on the final day of the convention.

CBS host Gayle King – a close friend of Oprah Winfrey, one of the convention’s speakers – floated the idea that Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce had reached out to Kamala’s campaign about attending the convention.

Kelce is the boyfriend of Swift who is the dream endorsement for Kamala as the most popular musician in the country.

“The Taylor Swift rumor is interesting to me because I was told a couple of days ago that Travis Kelce also had reached out to the Harris campaign when it was first announced and said that he wanted to be here on the night that she was speaking,” King claimed. “We’ll see if that is true.”

King – an alleged journalist – didn’t bother to look at the NFL schedule.

The Chiefs were playing a preseason game against the Chicago Bears with an 8:20 pm kickoff that day.

CBS News hosts Norah O’Donnell and Nancy Cordes jumped in to remind her that Kelce was scheduled to play.

“I know he has a game, but that doesn’t mean he’s playing,” King protested.

King admitted the rumor could be a “part of the ‘keep hope alive’ plan.”

Democrats used bogus celebrity rumors to juice interest in their convention

Celebrity gossip outlet TMZ first ran the rumor that Beyonce was going to perform at the Democratic National Convention before Kamala gave her acceptance speech.

Reputable political outlets like POLITICO, The Wall Street Journal, and The Hill began to report on the rumor which gave it legs.

It appeared that this rumor was started by the Biden-Harris administration.

White House political director Emmy Ruiz posted a bee emoji which is the symbol for Beyonce’s fanbase.

She later blamed her six-year-old for posting it but the damage was done.

Major accounts like Huffington Post reposted and the rumor began to spread.

But the possibility of Beyonce performing did its job.

“Beyoncé. She wasn’t there. But starting that rumor built a bigger audience, didn’t it?” left-wing University of Virginia professor Larry Sabato wrote.

The hype generated on social media and in the media almost certainly had people tune into the Democratic National Convention to see Beyonce who wouldn’t have otherwise watched.

It was the perfect escalation of the vapid, celebrity-driven campaign that Kamala Harris is running.
