Ohio just delivered a knockout punch to the woke mob on college campuses.
Students are having absolute fits over what just happened to their precious diversity programs.
And Ohio students had one ugly meltdown after Republican lawmakers did this to their woke programs.
Republican Governor Signs Law That Ends DEI Discrimination
Governor Mike DeWine took decisive action against woke ideology in Ohio’s public universities.
In late March, DeWine signed Senate Bill 1, officially called the Enact Advance Ohio Higher Education Act, into law.
The legislation went into effect on June 27 and is already causing major changes across the Buckeye State’s university system.
The law dismantles diversity, equity, and inclusion programs that have been discriminating against qualified students and faculty for years.
Universities across Ohio are shutting down their so-called "diversity centers" that served as headquarters for woke indoctrination.
According to the Ohio Capital Journal, Ohio University "sunsetted the Division of Diversity and Inclusion which included the Pride Center, the Women’s Center and the Multicultural Center."
Students who worked at these centers are now crying about losing their taxpayer-funded safe spaces.
Students Throw Tantrum Over Losing Their Woke Headquarters
Ohio University senior Audrey Ansel worked at the Pride Center and is having a complete meltdown over its closure.
"It’s almost a grieving process," Ansel told reporters. "It’s frustrating."
She went on to claim "it’s hard when that physical representation of that work is gone."
But Ansel saved her most dramatic complaint for last.
"I don’t regret going to school here, and I’ll never regret going to school here," she said. "But it feels like a betrayal."
A betrayal?
That’s rich coming from someone whose program betrayed every qualified student who got passed over because they had the wrong skin color.
Ansel also claimed that "community members are going to suffer without that resource," calling the Pride Center "a hub for queer people in southern Ohio."
What she really means is that professional activists just lost their base of operations on campus.
Ohio Lawmaker Fires Back at Woke Critics
State Representative Josh Williams, one of the sponsors of the legislation, wasn’t about to let these complaints go unanswered.
Williams delivered a reality check that left the woke mob speechless.
"It’s no surprise the woke mob is whining about legislation that removed unfair DEI standards from our universities," Williams stated. "SB 1 is about fairness and freedom."
"No student should ever be judged by their race, religion, sex, or political views. They should be judged on their merit," he added.
Williams hit the nail on the head when he explained why these critics are so upset.
"The critics fear this bill because it ends their stranglehold on campus thought," Williams explained. "Ohio students deserve real education, not indoctrination, and Ohio delivered with SB 1."
Williams has publicly called DEI "offensive" as a black man because he understands exactly what these programs really do.
They don’t promote equality – they institutionalize discrimination against anyone who doesn’t check the right boxes.
The Woke Mob Tried to Fight Back and Failed
The professional activists didn’t go down without a fight.
The Youngstown State University chapter of the Ohio Education Association attempted to organize a referendum against Senate Bill 1.
According to the Ohio Capital Journal, the effort "ultimately ran out of time in late June to acquire enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot."
Even on college campuses packed with left-wing students and faculty, they couldn’t generate enough support to challenge this common-sense legislation.
That tells you everything you need to know about how unpopular these discriminatory programs really are.
Look, here’s what’s really happening in Ohio – and why every other red state needs to pay attention.
For decades, universities have been running a massive scam on taxpayers and students alike.
They created these diversity centers and DEI offices that served one purpose: advancing a radical leftist agenda while discriminating against anyone who didn’t fit their preferred victim categories.
Students like Audrey Ansel are upset because they just lost their taxpayer-funded activism headquarters.
These weren’t educational programs – they were political operations designed to indoctrinate young people and silence conservative voices.
Governor DeWine and the Ohio legislature just proved that you can fight back against this garbage and win.
The woke mob is throwing a tantrum because they know what this means for their movement nationwide.
If Ohio can dismantle these programs, so can every other state with Republican leadership.
What you’re seeing in Ohio isn’t just about college policies – it’s about whether Americans are going to tolerate institutional discrimination in the name of "equity."
The students crying about losing their diversity centers need to understand something.
Real diversity means judging people by their character and qualifications, not the color of their skin or who they sleep with.
That’s exactly what Ohio just restored to its university system.
