Public News founder Michael Shellenberger just delivered a dire warning about the future of American society.
The environmental expert turned political commentator didn’t hold back about what’s really happening on college campuses across America.
And Michael Shellenberger told Jess Watters’ viewers one nightmarish truth that could bring down America.
Campus protests turning violent
Campus protests have erupted across the nation following the recent Tesla terrorism attacks, with CBS News reporting that “police arrested more than two dozen people” during recent demonstrations.
According to CBS, these protesters “demanded the school break its ties to the Boeing Corporation because of its military contracts.”
But Shellenberger said he sees something far more sinister happening beneath the surface when he appeared on Jesse Watters’ Fox News program.
“When you see how old some of those protesters are it’s not too scary. Certainly the Antifa ones are more scary,” Shellenberger explained.
“I think it’s showing that protests and often violent protests are the new comfort zone for the left and for the Democrats,” he continued.
The Public News founder noted these radicals “don’t really have much to say” and “don’t have an agenda that they’re advocating,” which is why they keep “retreating into these protests that just seem to get more and more violent every time.”
Warning signs of civilization’s collapse
Then Shellenberger delivered the knockout punch – referencing historical patterns that should alarm every patriotic American.
“We know from history that when the elites in your society start to identify more and sympathize more with foreigners that is a very dangerous sign,” Shellenberger warned.
He cited renowned British historian Arnold Toynbee who identified this trend as “one of the main factors to look for the decline of civilization.”
When Watters asked him to clarify if Toynbee viewed this as “an indication of the collapse of society when you have marginal groups that become violent and then they align themselves with foreigners,” and whether this was “like a traitorous action,” Shellenberger acknowledged the phenomenon works at different levels.
Betrayal of American workers
The betrayal operates on two levels, according to Shellenberger.
“On the one hand it’s identifying with the elites of other countries with the globalized elite class of other countries like in Europe,” he explained.
“But it’s also identifying and sympathizing more with poor and working people in other countries more than with working people here,” Shellenberger added.
This shift represents a complete abandonment of what were once core Democratic values.
“Where is the sympathy for the working class Americans that have lost all those good manufacturing jobs over the last 30 years?” Shellenberger asked.
He pointed out the stark economic reality: “Manufacturing jobs pay on average $107,000 a year. Service sector jobs pay around $37,000 a year.”
Democrats’ downward spiral
Perhaps most shocking was Shellenberger’s assessment of how the political landscape has completely flipped.
“This used to be a left-wing concern. This desire to bring back good jobs with high paid in the United States. It’s been completely taken over by Republicans,” he noted.
Republicans have also “taken over the free speech issue against the censorship of the left,” according to Shellenberger.
The result? A Democratic Party that appears to be in terminal decline.
“I don’t know when it ends which just seems to be a downward spiral for Democrats on the left right now,” Shellenberger concluded.
This brutal assessment comes at a critical time as Americans continue to feel the economic squeeze of inflation and job losses while Democrats appear increasingly obsessed with foreign concerns rather than the plight of American workers.
