Maxine Waters thought she’d seen the last of Donald Trump making bold moves.
She was dead wrong about that.
And Maxine Waters lost her mind after Trump spoke the words "for cause."
Maxine Waters demands Trump’s removal over Fed firing
President Trump fired Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook last week, and Democrats are acting like he just declared war on the economy.
The most unhinged reaction came from Rep. Maxine Waters, who went on MSNBC and called for Trump’s removal under the 25th Amendment.
You heard that right – Waters thinks firing one Biden appointee makes Trump unfit for office.
"It is time to call for Article [Amendment] 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president," Waters ranted during her television appearance.
She didn’t stop there.
Waters claimed the firing was "absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do" and warned it would "upend the entire economy."
The California Democrat even begged Trump’s cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment against their own boss.
"I want—even though I know it may not happen—the cabinet that he’s appointed, a bunch of his sycophants who probably won’t do what I would recommend, to call for Article 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America," Waters said.
Translation: she knows Trump’s team won’t betray him, but she’s desperate enough to ask anyway.
Trump removed Lisa Cook over mortgage fraud allegations
Here’s what Waters conveniently left out of her meltdown – Trump didn’t fire Cook because he felt like it.
The President removed Lisa Cook from her position after citing allegations that she engaged in mortgage fraud.
In a termination letter posted on Truth Social, Trump wrote that "there is sufficient reason to believe you may have made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements."
Cook had allegedly made false statements on mortgage applications by claiming two different properties as her primary residence within two weeks of each other – exactly the kind of behavior you’d expect to disqualify someone from overseeing the nation’s financial system.
Cook, predictably, is fighting back and claims Trump had no authority to fire her.
"President Trump purported to fire me ‘for cause’ when no cause exists under the law, and he has no authority to do so," Cook responded.
She’s filed a lawsuit challenging her removal, arguing it was both unlawful and unprecedented.
The Trump administration isn’t backing down and points to the Constitution and Federal Reserve Act as giving the President authority to remove officials "for cause."
Administration officials highlighted the mortgage fraud claims as clear grounds for dismissal.
Cook was Biden’s appointee, confirmed in 2022, and became the first Black woman to serve as a Federal Reserve governor.
But her historic status doesn’t excuse allegedly fraudulent behavior on mortgage applications.
Waters shows her true priorities with unhinged response
Look, here’s what this really shows about Maxine Waters and her priorities.
She’s not upset about potential mortgage fraud by a government official – she’s furious that Trump had the backbone to actually do something about it.
Waters would rather keep a potentially corrupt Biden appointee in place than see Trump exercise legitimate presidential authority.
This is the same woman who spent Trump’s first term calling for his impeachment every other week.
Now she’s demanding the 25th Amendment because he fired someone with fraud allegations hanging over their head.
You want to know what really has Waters rattled? Trump isn’t playing the Washington game where everyone protects everyone else’s corrupt appointees.
He’s actually cleaning house like he promised voters he would do.
Waters called Trump’s cabinet "a bunch of his sycophants," but the real sycophants are Democrats like her who defend obvious misconduct when it comes from their side.
The timing of her meltdown tells you everything you need to know – she’s panicking because Trump is just getting started with draining the swamp.
Cook’s lawsuit will probably fail because mortgage fraud is exactly the kind of "cause" that justifies removal from government positions.
But don’t expect Waters to apologize when the courts rule against Cook.
She’ll just find something else to have a meltdown about because that’s all she knows how to do.
The real question isn’t whether Trump had authority to fire Cook – it’s why Biden appointed someone with these allegations in the first place.
