Liz Cheney used January 6 to launch a witch hunt against Donald Trump.
The curtain was pulled back on her treachery.
And Liz Cheney was sick after this lie about January 6 was exposed.
Jack Smith destroys Cassidy Hutchinson's credibility
Liz Cheney personally recruited Cassidy Hutchinson to be her star witness against President Donald Trump for her sham January 6 Committee.
The former Mark Meadows aide was plucked from obscurity and groomed to deliver testimony that would destroy Trump on live television.
Cheney needed a liar willing to say anything under oath. She found one.
Democrats and the media crowned Hutchinson a hero after her blockbuster June 2022 testimony. Republicans knew the truth from day one. She was lying.
Hutchinson worked with Democrats and their media allies to create a hoax designed to make Trump look like a lunatic.
Now even President Trump's most aggressive prosecutor admits Hutchinson lied under oath.
Former special counsel Jack Smith sat for a closed-door deposition with the House Judiciary Committee on December 17. What he revealed should land Hutchinson in prison for perjury.
"My recollection with Ms. Hutchinson, at least one of the issues was a number of the things that she gave evidence on were secondhand hearsay, were things that she had heard from other people," Smith testified.¹
Smith went further. He admitted Hutchinson's testimony "certainly wouldn't be as powerful as firsthand testimony" and that much of it "may or may not be admissible" in an actual court of law.²
The prosecutor who tried to put President Trump in prison before the 2024 election admitted the January 6 Committee's star witness wouldn't have been credible enough to call in his case.
But Liz Cheney had no problem putting a liar on national television to destroy Trump's reputation with fabricated testimony.
The most sensational claim Hutchinson made involved President Trump allegedly lunging for the steering wheel of his Secret Service SUV on January 6. She testified President Trump screamed "I'm the f—ing president! Take me up to the Capitol now!" while trying to grab the wheel from his driver.³
Hutchinson wasn't there. She made up a story and every single person who was actually in the vehicle immediately called her a liar.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, who Hutchinson claimed told her the story, said it never happened. The Secret Service agent in the vehicle denied it. The driver told committee investigators President Trump "never grabbed the steering wheel" and didn't "lunge to try to get into the front seat at all."⁴
The Democrat-led January 6 Committee knew Hutchinson was lying and buried the evidence.
They hid testimony from the American people that proved their star witness fabricated the entire story. They didn't release it until after the 2022 midterms when the damage was already done.
Cheney handpicked a willing liar
Liz Cheney didn't stumble onto Cassidy Hutchinson by accident.
She recruited her specifically because Hutchinson was willing to lie under oath to destroy President Trump. Cheney needed a young female witness who would deliver sensational made-for-TV testimony. Facts didn't matter. Only destroying Trump mattered.
Smith told House investigators his team interviewed everyone involved in the alleged steering wheel incident.
"That officer, if my recollection is correct, and I want to make sure I'm right about this, said that President Trump was very angry and wanted to go to the Capitol, but the version of events that he explained was not the same as what Cassidy Hutchinson said she heard from somebody secondhand."⁵
Even the prosecutor trying to nail President Trump admits Hutchinson fabricated her story and she was contradicted by every eyewitness.
Hutchinson also claimed President Trump wanted armed supporters to bypass magnetometers at his January 6 rally, allegedly saying
"They're not here to hurt me. Take the f—ing mags away."⁶ Smith admitted his team got "a number of different perspectives" on that claim too. Translation: more lies.
Hutchinson told Cheney's committee whatever lies they wanted to hear.
The committee broadcast those lies to America without bothering to verify if any of it was true. Then they buried the testimony from actual witnesses who exposed Hutchinson as a liar.
This wasn't an investigation. It was a show trial designed to destroy President Trump before the 2024 election using manufactured testimony from a recruited liar. And Jack Smith just admitted it under oath.
Cheney spent two years claiming she was defending the Constitution and the rule of law.
She wasn't. She was running a political hit job using lies from a witness she personally recruited and coached to commit perjury on national television.
The January 6 Committee disbanded before Republicans could expose their fraud in real time. But the truth is coming out anyway. Cassidy Hutchinson is a perjurer. Liz Cheney recruited her to lie. And now even Jack Smith admits every word was fabricated.
