FBI Director Kash Patel has been busy cleaning house at the bureau.
He promised to bring accountability to the deep state actors who weaponized federal law enforcement.
And Kash Patel exposed one damning fact about James Comey that left Democrats white as a ghost.
Bombshell memos reveal the conspiracy behind classified leaks
Attorney General Pam Bondi just declassified explosive FBI memos that blow the lid off James Comey’s lies to Congress.
The documents show that federal prosecutors had compiled evidence suggesting Comey gave the green light for classified information to be leaked to reporters right before the 2016 election.
Yet no criminal charges were ever filed against the disgraced former FBI Director.
The explosive revelations came from interviews with two of Comey’s most trusted lieutenants – former FBI general counsel James Baker and former Comey chief of staff James Rybicki.
These documents were uncovered by FBI Director Kash Patel earlier this year, but critical sections were originally blacked out by the Justice Department when copies went to Congress.
Bondi stepped in personally and ordered the redactions removed, sending updated versions of the memos to congressional judiciary committees this week.
The memos detail evidence and interviews gathered by U.S. Postal Inspection Service agents concerning classified information leaked to The New York Times in October 2016, ahead of the November election in which Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.
"The USPIS Investigation also revealed Baker disclosed USG [U.S. government] classified information to the NYT under the belief he was ultimately instructed and authorized to do so by then FBI Director James Comey," one summary memo reads.
"During interviews, Baker indicated FBI Chief of Staff James Rybicki instructed him (Baker) to disclose the information to the NYT, and Baker understood Rybicki was conveying this instruction and authorization from Comey," according to the memo.
The cover-up runs deeper than anyone imagined
Here’s where it gets interesting – and infuriating.
Multiple prosecutors looked at this evidence, including the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., under Trump’s first administration and future special prosecutor John Durham.
Every single one of them declined to bring criminal charges.
Think about that for a moment. They had evidence that the FBI Director authorized illegal leaks of classified information to influence a presidential election, and nobody went to jail.
Bondi made it clear she wasn’t going to let this slide like her predecessors did.
"This document produced at my direction confirms what many Americans have long suspected: former FBI Director James Comey and his chief of staff engaged in abhorrent conduct," she said. "There must be accountability for those who were entrusted with safeguarding our nation’s secrets and failed to do so."
Patel called out the obvious – that one of his predecessors may have authorized illegal leaks and then lied about it to Congress.
"These newly declassified memos show how former FBI leadership authorized classified leaks and withheld the truth from Congress and the American people," he said. "Thanks to President Trump’s commitment to transparency, the cover-up is being exposed. The public deserves nothing less than full accountability."
Comey got caught red-handed lying to Congress
The most damning part of this whole scandal is how Comey brazenly lied under oath to Congress about these leaks.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley asked Comey in May 2017 whether he had "ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation."
Comey replied, "Never."
Grassley then asked whether Comey had "ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation."
Comey again testified, "No."
When asked whether any classified information "relating to President Trump or his associates" had ever been declassified and shared with journalists, Comey said, "Not to my knowledge."
But the newly declassified memos show that’s exactly what happened – Comey authorized Baker to leak classified information through Rybicki, and Baker understood he was acting on Comey’s direct orders.
That’s perjury, plain and simple.
The real conspiracy was inside the FBI
Look, this whole thing proves what Trump supporters have been saying for years – the real conspiracy wasn’t between Trump and Russia.
It was between corrupt FBI leadership and the corporate media to take down a duly elected President.
Comey and his crew weren’t just investigating Trump – they were actively working to destroy him through calculated leaks of classified information designed to fuel the Russia hoax.
And they almost got away with it.
The memos show the Justice Department launched more than half a dozen investigations into these leaks, with code names like "Tropic Vortex," "Echos Fate," "Foggy Falls," "Genetic Christmas," and "Sirens Lure."
But somehow, despite having evidence of criminal conduct by the FBI Director himself, nobody got prosecuted.
That tells you everything you need to know about the deep state protection racket that was running the show.
Justice delayed doesn’t have to mean justice denied
Here’s the thing that should have Democrats nervous – the statute of limitations for prosecution under espionage laws can be extended to 10 years if the act was knowing and willful and harmed national security.
And if it was part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy that continued into the last five years, prosecutors can still bring charges.
Legal expert Mike Davis, a former top Senate Judiciary Committee lawyer, explained that "the general federal statute of limitations is five years, but espionage that harms our national interest is 10 years and covering up the crime continues the conspiracy."
Patel has already opened a criminal investigation examining the last decade of intelligence abuses and political weaponization as an ongoing criminal conspiracy.
That investigation stretches from the discredited Russia collusion probe all the way to the raid on Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.
Bondi has created a strike force to examine these allegations and authorized the use of grand juries, while one of her top deputies told Just the News that one of the crimes that could be charged is the deprivation of civil liberties under color of government authority.
Comey thought he was untouchable when he authorized those leaks back in 2016.
He thought his lies to Congress would be buried forever in classified documents.
But Kash Patel and Pam Bondi just proved that nobody is above the law – not even former FBI Directors who think they can get away with betraying their oath of office.
The cover-up is finally being exposed, and accountability is coming.
