Blue state governors think that they can do whatever they want.
Those days are over.
And Jeanine Pirro had one message for blue state governors that had them in full panic mode.
Pirro's DC results have Democrats squirming
U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. Jeanine Pirro appeared on WABC-AM radio's "Cats Roundtable" and absolutely torched blue state governors for choosing radical leftist ideology over public safety.
She's earned the right to say it.
Since Trump's law enforcement surge began in D.C., Pirro's office has overseen 6,362 arrests and seized 610 illegal guns as of mid-November.²
Violent crime dropped 60% compared to 2023 levels.²
Carjackings plummeted 80%.²
Homicides fell 72%.²
Those numbers explain why Democrat governors are panicking.
"We can't have mayors or leaders who are more about progressive, leftist ideology than they are about doing the work of government," Pirro told host John Catsimatidis.¹
Democrats create "chaos where there is no need for chaos" purely because of their hatred for President Donald Trump, Pirro explained.
"When people are obsessed, or leaders are obsessed, with hating who the president is, or drilling down to make sure that they fire people up and create chaos where there is no need for chaos, for example with immigration, then you're going to have a problem," she continued.¹
Then she dropped the truth bomb Democrats don't want to hear.
"The truth is that you don't have a right to be in this country," Pirro stated. "You only have a right to be here when you're invited here and you follow the law."¹
Trump Administration takes aim at sanctuary state obstruction
Pirro's aggressive stance reflects her success implementing Trump Administration policies in D.C.
She transformed the criminal justice system by ordering immigration status checks on every single defendant.
"We are now trying to identify those illegals who are currently burrowed in our criminal justice system, who've identified themselves either as citizens or individuals with actual legal status who do not have status or are illegal," Pirro announced in July.³
The policy directly combats D.C.'s sanctuary city status.
Mayor Muriel Bowser and the city council prohibit local law enforcement and jail officials from sharing information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, detaining illegal aliens for ICE without a judicial order, or allowing ICE to interview detainees without court approval.
Pirro cut through all that red tape.
Attorney General Pam Bondi is now replicating Pirro's approach nationwide.
She sent letters in August to sanctuary states, cities, and counties demanding cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
"You better be abiding by our federal policies and with our federal law enforcement, because if you aren't, we're going to come after you," Bondi warned in a Fox News interview.⁴
The Department of Homeland Security launched "Operation Midway Blitz" targeting Illinois and Chicago specifically because Governor J.B. Pritzker's sanctuary policies "would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets."⁵
Three Democrat governors — Pritzker, Minnesota's Tim Walz, and New York's Kathy Hochul — were hauled before the House Oversight Committee in June.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer didn't pull any punches.
"Sanctuary policies do not protect Americans," Comer declared. "They protect criminal illegal aliens."⁶
The hearing exposed just how badly sanctuary policies have failed.
Republican members confronted the governors with the devastating story of Katie Abraham, who was killed by a previously deported criminal illegal alien driving drunk in Urbana, Illinois — a sanctuary jurisdiction.
The killer fled the scene after murdering Katie.
Her family attended the hearing to witness Democrats refuse to condemn the reckless policies that led to their daughter's death.
"These Governors handcuff law enforcement from doing their jobs, harbor predators, and call it 'compassion.' It is NOT compassion, and it is costing lives, hurting Americans, and draining taxpayer money," Comer stated.⁶
Even the Vatican has walls
Pirro made one more observation that perfectly exposed the hypocrisy of open borders advocates.
"Even the Vatican has walls," she added.¹
That's not just rhetoric — it's fact.
In December 2024, the Vatican issued a decree dramatically increasing penalties for illegal entry into Vatican territory, imposing fines up to 25,000 euros and prison sentences ranging from one to four years for those who enter "by means of violence, threats, or deception, bypassing border controls or security systems."⁷
Anyone convicted of illegal entry gets banned from Vatican territory for up to 15 years, with prison sentences of one to five years if they breach that ban.⁷
The Vatican — home to Pope Francis who constantly lectures America about welcoming illegal aliens — enforces some of the strictest immigration laws in Europe.
Vatican citizenship is the most exclusive in the world, with only 618 individuals holding it.⁸
The 2.5-mile perimeter is surrounded by imposing Leonine Walls dating back to the 9th century, rising 14 meters high, with Swiss Guards stationed at eight controlled entrance points.⁸
Nobody enters without special permission and proper paperwork.
Blue state governors who preach open borders would never dream of applying that philosophy to their own gated communities or private security details.
But they expect working-class Americans to live with the violent consequences of sanctuary policies that shield criminal illegal aliens from deportation.
Jeanine Pirro proved there's a better way in Washington, D.C.
Now she's calling out every blue state governor who refuses to follow that example.
