Members of Congress are living high on the hog courtesy of taxpayers.

They want to keep all of their benefits a secret.

And Jasmine Crockett wanted to hide this awful perk taxpayers are footing the bill for.

Congressmen get taxpayers to pay leases on luxury vehicles

Members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to RINO Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) argue that they’re underpaid.

The base salary for the House and Senate is $174,000 plus benefits.

Congressmen neglect to talk about the perks of the job when they’re arguing for a raise.

Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is one of the rising stars in the Democrat Party for running her mouth in front of any camera she can find.

Crockett claimed that the federal government wastes a small amount of taxpayers’ money.

The outspoken Congresswoman claimed that the federal government wasn’t in the “business of giving out money.”

But she’s more than happy to have taxpayers pick up the tab for a lease on her car.

House records show that she’s expensed $999.96 a month since she took office in January 2023 for a taxpayer-funded vehicle.

Congressmen aren’t required to disclose the make and model of the vehicle they lease.

The payment she billed would be enough to lease a Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan.

Members can pick from a list of “low greenhouse gas emitting vehicles” approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Jasmine Crockett is driving in style on the taxpayer dime

Members of the House of Representatives get a little-known perk where they can expense a vehicle lease out of their Members’ Representational Allowance (MRA).

The MRA covers expenses related to their official duties as a member of Congress like traveling in their district.

42 Representatives took part in the House vehicle lease program in 2024, according to records.

The Washington Free Beacon found that the 15 Republicans who took part in the program represented large rural districts that covered an average of more than 18,000 square miles.

Republican offices told the outlet that leasing a vehicle was cheaper than flying around the district or getting the IRS reimbursement rate of 67 cents per mile for using their personal vehicle.

Some of the House Democrats who participated in the lease program used taxpayer money to lease luxury brands like Lexus, Volvo, and Tesla.

15 of the Democrats represented compact urban districts that are less than 500 square miles.

Crockett represents a House district that covers urban Dallas, Texas that is only 335 square miles.

She claims to be concerned about climate change but she used a vehicle to travel around her district instead of taking public transportation.

Americans for Public Trust executive director Caitlin Sutherland said it was “disturbing” that members of Congress didn’t have to disclose the make and model of the vehicle they leased with taxpayer money.

“Riding around in a taxpayer-funded Lexus and not being forthcoming with constituents raises ethical questions and is unacceptable, particularly in our current era of rising accountability over government spending,” Sutherland said. “Taxpayers have the right to know what type of vehicle they’re subsidizing to ensure this program is not being abused.”

Jasmine Crockett wants to tax Americans more while she’s billing them for nearly $1,000 a month for a car lease.
