Jasmine Crockett Filed One Court Challenge That Exposed Her Stunning Hypocrisy

Jasmine Crockett has been making waves as one of the loudest voices in Congress.

The Texas Democrat loves to lecture Republicans about fairness and democracy.

But Jasmine Crockett just filed one court challenge that revealed her true priorities.

Democrat Reps Race to Court After Texas Republicans Fight Back

U.S. Representatives Al Green (D-TX) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) filed an emergency motion for a preliminary injunction in federal court on Tuesday, desperately trying to block Texas’s newly approved congressional redistricting plan.

The two Democrats are panicking because the Republican-led Texas Legislature just approved what they’re calling the "One Big Beautiful Map" – a redistricting plan that could add up to five Republican-leaning districts to the Texas delegation.

And suddenly, the same Democrats who’ve been silent about California’s gerrymandering are screaming about "unlawful" maps.

The motion, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, challenges Plan C2333 and asks a three-judge panel to stop it from taking effect before the 2026 elections.

Green and Crockett argue the new boundaries "substantially alter" their districts and disrupt representation for their current voters.

The Texas House approved the measure 88–52, followed by an 18–11 Senate vote after Democrats failed at a last-ditch filibuster attempt.

Governor Abbott praised the legislation, saying it "ensures our maps reflect Texans’ voting preferences," and has indicated he’ll sign it into law.

The Hypocrisy Is Staggering

Here’s what makes this whole charade so infuriating.

These same Democrats have been absolutely silent while California advanced their own redistricting map specifically designed to eliminate Republican seats.

When California Democrats decided to redraw their maps mid-decade to help their party, Green said what California is doing is an appropriate response to what’s happening in Texas. "You cannot let one side play by no rules," Green said. "That’s the kind of president we’re dealing with. No rules for him, rules for us. That’s called authoritarianism."

So let’s get this straight – when California Democrats gerrymander to hurt Republicans, that’s righteous resistance to authoritarianism.

But when Texas Republicans draw maps that reflect the state’s conservative voting patterns, suddenly it’s a constitutional crisis that requires emergency federal court intervention.

The new Texas map shifts Green’s 9th Congressional District away from southern Houston into eastern Harris County and Liberty County – areas that lean Republican.

Green has stated that the redrawn map places most of his current constituents in the new 18th District, and at a press conference Tuesday, he said he intends to remain with those constituents, signaling he may run for the new 18th seat in 2026 rather than contest the reconfigured 9th District.

Crockett has called the redistricting plan a "hot mess" and argued it undermines fair representation for urban and minority communities. She previously warned during a legislative hearing that she no longer resides in her district under the plan.

Look, Here’s What’s Really Happening

You want to know what this is really about? Democrats have been getting away with gerrymandering for decades in blue states while crying foul every time Republicans fight back in red states.

California just proved they’ll redraw maps whenever it suits them politically.

New York Democrats tried to eliminate multiple Republican seats through redistricting until courts stopped them.

Illinois Democrats gerrymandered their state so aggressively they turned what should have been competitive districts into Democrat strongholds.

But the moment Texas Republicans decide to play by the same rules, suddenly we need emergency court intervention to protect "democracy."

The timing here isn’t coincidental either.

This comes right after President Donald Trump threatened legal action against California’s redistricting power grab, and Democrats know they need to muddy the waters by claiming Republicans are doing the same thing.

The difference is that Texas is actually reflecting how people vote.

California is trying to overturn how people vote.

The Real Stakes

If Democrats succeed with this court challenge, it sends a message that only blue states get to redraw maps for political advantage.

Republicans will once again be forced to follow rules that Democrats ignore whenever it’s convenient.

Texas voters made their preferences clear in election after election – they want conservative representation.

The "One Big Beautiful Map" simply ensures that Texas congressional districts actually reflect those preferences instead of protecting Democrat incumbents who can’t win fair fights.

Green and Crockett aren’t fighting for their constituents – they’re fighting to keep safe seats in a state that’s rejected their ideology.

That’s not democracy, that’s political welfare for failed politicians.
