The Biden cover-up is unraveling faster than Democrats ever imagined.
Key witnesses are pleading the Fifth Amendment to avoid criminal liability.
And James Comer offered Democrats one deal that was Joe Biden’s worst nightmare.
House Republicans close in on Biden’s inner circle
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is methodically dismantling the wall of protection around Joe Biden’s mental decline scandal.
Three witnesses close to the former President have already pleaded the Fifth Amendment during depositions in less than two weeks – and that’s just the beginning.¹
Annie Tomasini, who served as Biden’s assistant and deputy director of Oval Office Operations, refused to testify about what she witnessed in the Oval Office.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s personal physician, clammed up rather than discuss the former President’s medical condition.
Most telling of all, Anthony Bernal – former First Lady Jill Biden’s chief of staff – took the Fifth rather than reveal what he knew about the conspiracy to hide Biden’s deteriorating mental state.
Comer didn’t mince words about what this pattern of silence reveals.
The witnesses are following "a pattern…seeking to shield themselves from criminal liability," Comer stated.²
That’s Washington speak for: these people are terrified of going to prison.
But Comer has a nuclear option that could blow this whole scandal wide open.
Congressional immunity could force Biden’s allies to spill everything
Legal expert John Shu explained the devastating weapon in Comer’s arsenal that could shatter the conspiracy of silence.
The committee could grant immunity to key witnesses – and once they have immunity, they can’t plead the Fifth anymore.
"Both the DOJ and Congress have been known to grant immunity. It would prevent witnesses from asserting the Fifth Amendment, because once you have immunity you can’t be prosecuted," Shu explained.³
Think about what that means for a moment.
Every single one of Biden’s inner circle cronies who are currently hiding behind the Fifth Amendment would be forced to testify under oath about what they witnessed.
They’d have to tell Congress exactly what they saw happening with Biden’s mental decline.
They’d have to reveal who was really running the country while Biden shuffled around in his mental fog.
And they’d have to admit their role in the cover-up that deceived the American people for years.
Shu pointed out that these witnesses aren’t pleading the Fifth because they’re innocent.
"Those witnesses will still want to avoid any kind of self-incrimination, even if they themselves didn’t commit a crime, because they may have been part of a conspiracy to commit a crime or they may have lied in some other setting," Shu stated.⁴
Translation: Biden’s inner circle knows they participated in something that could land them in federal prison.
The conspiracy runs deeper than anyone imagined
The investigation has been fueled by explosive revelations in the book "Original Sin" by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson.
The book claims that "Five people were running the country, and Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board."⁵
Let that sink in for a moment.
The President of the United States was essentially a figurehead while five unelected individuals made decisions affecting 330 million Americans.
That’s not just a scandal – that’s a constitutional crisis of historic proportions.
But here’s where it gets even more interesting for Comer’s investigation.
When Donald Trump took office in January, he inherited the power to waive executive privilege for Biden administration officials.
Biden himself opened this door when he waived executive privilege for Trump officials Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon during the January 6 investigation.
"What goes around, comes around…Executive privilege goes with the office, not the president," Shu noted.⁶
That means Trump can strip away the last legal protection Biden’s cronies might try to hide behind.
"Annie Tomasini and Anthony Bernal know that, and that’s partially why they didn’t assert executive privilege and instead pled the fifth, because Trump waived their privilege," Shu explained.⁷
More bombshells are coming
Comer isn’t stopping with the three witnesses who have already pleaded the Fifth.
The committee has also called Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s former press secretary who lied to reporters daily about Biden’s condition.
Ian Sams, a former White House advisor in the Counsel’s Office, will also be forced to testify about his role in the cover-up.
Andrew Bates, who served as deputy press secretary, and Jeff Zients, who was Biden’s chief of staff, are also on deck.⁸
Each one of these witnesses has damaging information about Biden’s mental decline and the conspiracy to hide it from the American people.
The committee is investigating what Comer called the "potentially unauthorized issuance of sweeping pardons and other executive action" – raising questions about whether Biden was even competent enough to make those decisions.⁹
Questions about Biden’s mental fitness were raised long before the 2020 election, but the White House and their media allies covered it up.
They claimed Biden was receiving regular medical exams showing a "healthy, competent president."
But now we know the truth – it was all a lie designed to deceive voters and keep power in the hands of Biden’s unelected handlers.
The immunity deal Comer could offer represents Biden’s worst nightmare because it would force every single witness to tell the truth under oath.
No more hiding behind lawyers.
No more pleading the Fifth.
Just the cold, hard facts about how they conspired to hide Biden’s mental decline from the American people.
And once that testimony is public, the full scope of this constitutional scandal will finally be exposed.
