The Democrat Party thought they could hide their radical agenda until after the midterms.
But The Squad just reminded everyone exactly where they really stand.
And Ilhan Omar made one terrible demand that put Democrats in this awful position.
The Squad’s war on immigration enforcement continues
While ICE agents are doing the hard work of removing dangerous criminals from American streets, radical Democrats are calling for the agency to be eliminated entirely.
Representative Ilhan Omar has been one of the most vocal opponents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, repeatedly demanding that the agency "be abolished and replaced."¹
Her extremist position puts mainstream Democrats in an impossible spot – defend law enforcement or side with the far-Left base that wants open borders.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Democrats trying to appear moderate heading into election season.
Just this week, ICE arrested Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member and illegal alien from El Salvador, demonstrating exactly why immigration enforcement matters.²
But instead of celebrating the arrest of a dangerous criminal, Omar and her Squad allies continue pushing their "Abolish ICE" agenda.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doubles down on anti-ICE rhetoric
Omar isn’t alone in her radical stance against American immigration enforcement.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been equally vocal about eliminating ICE, calling it "a rogue agency that should not exist."³
Her social media posts reveal the depth of her hatred for immigration enforcement.
"#AbolishICE means not having an agency that incarcerates children and sexually assaults women with impunity," she wrote in a 2018 social media post.⁴
The extremist congresswoman even responded to ICE’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day post with just two words: "Abolish ICE."⁵
Her contempt for law enforcement is matched only by her disdain for the American citizens ICE protects.
Pramila Jayapal completes the radical trio
Washington Representative Pramila Jayapal has pushed the anti-ICE agenda in Congress with actual legislation.
In 2018, she introduced a bill to "terminate" ICE entirely.
"There was enforcement of our immigration laws before ICE was created and there will be after ICE, as an agency, is gone," Jayapal said in a statement.⁶
While she’s toned down her rhetoric slightly in recent years, introducing a less ambitious bill called "The Stop ICE from Kidnapping U.S. Citizens Act" in 2025, the damage was already done.
These three Squad members have made their position crystal clear – they want to eliminate the agency responsible for removing dangerous criminals from American communities.
The Squad’s real agenda exposed
Here’s what The Squad’s "Abolish ICE" campaign is really about.
They want to eliminate immigration enforcement entirely, creating a de facto open borders policy without having to vote for it directly.
No ICE means no interior enforcement.
No interior enforcement means illegal aliens can live anywhere in America without fear of deportation.
It’s a backdoor amnesty that would fundamentally transform the country.
Omar’s case is particularly galling because she came to America as a refugee from Somalia and became a naturalized citizen.
She benefited from America’s legal immigration system, yet now advocates for policies that would make legal immigration meaningless.
The hypocrisy is staggering.
What this means for Democrats
The Squad just handed Republicans a massive political gift.
Every time Democrats try to claim they support border security or immigration enforcement, Republicans can point to Omar, AOC, and Jayapal’s "Abolish ICE" statements.
Polling consistently shows that most Americans support immigration enforcement and oppose defunding law enforcement agencies.
The Squad’s extremist positions are toxic with swing voters, especially in suburban districts where Democrats need to compete.
Smart Republican candidates will make sure every voter knows that the Democrat Party’s base wants to eliminate ICE entirely.
The choice is clear
When MS-13 gang members are getting arrested by federal agents, and Democrat politicians think the real problem is the federal agents, American voters deserve to know.
The Squad has revealed the true heart of the modern Democrat Party – they care more about protecting illegal aliens than protecting American citizens.
Their "Abolish ICE" agenda isn’t just bad policy – it’s a fundamental rejection of the rule of law.
Voters will have to decide whether they want politicians who stand with law enforcement or politicians who want to eliminate the agencies that keep dangerous criminals off our streets.
The Squad just made that choice crystal clear.
