Entertainment celebrities are expected to toe a tight line.
Anyone who steps out of line gets attacked.
And a Hollywood star made one comment that drove the Left into a frenzy.
Crisis of masculinity
Superhero movie fatigue might finally be setting in.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe peaked with Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
Since then, Disney’s Marvel output has brought diminishing returns.
Captain America: Brave New World underwhelmed by grossing $400 million worldwide thus far on a $180 million budget.
And lead actor Anthony Mackie, who took over the role of Captain America from Chris Evans, recently made some comments that landed him in hot water with people on the Left.
Mackie appeared on The Pivot podcast with former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.
During the conversation, Mackie talked about masculinity being undermined in America.
Mackie said, “So, it is just that thing of—in the past 20 years, we’ve been living through the death of the American male. . .They have literally killed masculinity in our homes, in our communities, for one reason or another. But I raise my boys to be young men. And however you feel about that, you feel about that.”
This had been a taboo subject for a long time, but the dam has finally broken as the problem has become too big to ignore.
Mackie continued, “Every time I left for a job, I tell my 15-year-old, ‘You’re the man of the house. You make sure these doors are locked. Every night this alarm is on. You text me or you call me every night before you go to bed and when you wake up.’ I love that because we’re men.”
Mackie also explained that he tries to keep his boys humble by not buying them all of the newest and fanciest clothes.
“I keep my boys humble,” Mackie added. “Like, my boys have never had a pair of Jordans. My boys don’t do all that internet fly s***. . .I could be the biggest star in the world. Do not let me catch you being stupid.”

That type of attitude has been deemed “toxic” in a lot of circles, mainly because of the excesses of second and third-wave feminism.
Of course, that sounds a lot different from how Mackie’s comments earlier this year were taken.
“To me, Captain America represents a lot of things.. and America isn’t one of them,” Mackie said about the role and franchise he became the face of.
The new “Captain America” says America sucks. I’m so sick of these Hollywood morons. How about a little gratitude? This country is so awesome your bitch ass can make tens of millions wearing tights pretending to be a superhero. Click play, I went off: pic.twitter.com/LdbigYfKtd

Perhaps he was actually trying to subtly lash out at how woke the comic book movie franchise – along with almost everything else in Hollywood had become.
It shouldn’t shock anyone that the guy playing Captain America says the character shouldn’t represent America…

Or maybe his latest comments are just a cynical ploy to snooker a few viewers from the right side of the aisle to see Captain America: Brave New World.
How we got here
Some liberals have tried over the years to have the conversation, but they were effectively excommunicated from the Left.
For example, Dr. Warren Farrell, a soft-spoken academic who was the highest-ranking male member of the National Organization for Women, was labeled a misogynist for ringing the alarm about what he called the “boy crisis.”
Farrell said that boys were falling behind because their natural behavior was being pathologized as toxic.
They were being told to behave more like girls, who are less outwardly aggressive on average.
Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson also began speaking out about the issue, and he was attacked mercilessly for years.
The Left even branded him the “king of the incels [involuntarily celibate]” because of his empathy and sympathy for young men who were struggling with all sorts of interpersonal issues.
Now maybe it’s safe for Hollywood stars like Mackie to speak openly about the issue.
Either that or the Hollywood elites are just trying to score a few extra bucks on their woke drivel by putting some red meat lines out in the media.
But you decide what to do with your dollars.
