America’s elite warriors are being hunted.
The men who spent years overseas fighting terrorists are now being targeted at home.
And Army Special Operations just caught off-guard retired heroes with one terror warning that has Florida on edge.
Terror threat targets America’s most elite veterans
The U.S. Army Special Operations Command sent out an urgent warning on Thursday that left retired special forces personnel scrambling to secure their families.
The warning went out to retired special operations personnel who served in Iraq or Syria and now live in Florida.
Military officials didn’t say which terrorist group was behind the threat or what kind of attack they’re planning.
These aren’t just any veterans.
These are the men who conducted the most dangerous missions behind enemy lines for years, taking the fight directly to Al Qaeda and Islamic State terrorists.
Now those same terrorists want payback.
The warning didn’t specify which terrorist group was involved or what kind of threat they’re planning.
But military officials deemed it credible enough to issue the alert, according to Col. Allie Scott, a spokeswoman for the command.¹
That’s what makes this so chilling.
The Pentagon doesn’t issue these kinds of warnings lightly.
Florida becomes ground zero for terrorist revenge plots
The alert specifically targeted retired special operations personnel living in Florida, which has become home to thousands of former military members.
The military’s overall Special Operations Command has its headquarters in Tampa, making Florida a natural retirement destination for these elite warriors.
But that concentration of retired special forces also makes the state a prime target for terrorists seeking revenge.
The warning, signed by the command’s provost marshal, Col. Mark A. Katz, encouraged active-duty service members to alert any retired special forces who live in Florida.
It told them to warn their brothers-in-arms to “remain vigilant.”²
The alert said the threat did not target active-duty special operations personnel, but it still told them to stay watchful and report anything suspicious to authorities.³
This isn’t some general security briefing.
This is a specific, credible threat against the men who risked everything to keep America safe.
Years of secret missions make heroes targets
Military officials have spent years trying to protect the identities of special operations forces who conducted strikes against terrorist networks.
They knew this day might come.
The Pentagon has often declined to identify commandos involved in operations against Al Qaeda and Islamic State insurgents, fearing that service members or their families could be targeted for retaliation.
Even in the United States.
Now those fears are becoming reality.
These warnings, called “duty to warn notifications,” aren’t uncommon according to military officials.
But the specific nature of this threat shows how desperate terrorist groups have become.
They can’t beat America’s military overseas, so they’re bringing the fight to American soil.
They’re targeting the very men who spent years hunting them down in their own backyard.
Biden’s foreign policy failures come home to roost
This terror threat against America’s heroes is a direct result of the Biden administration’s disastrous foreign policy.
The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan showed terrorists that America was weak and unwilling to fight.
The chaos in the Middle East has given terrorist groups time to regroup and plan attacks.
Now they’re confident enough to target retired American special forces on U.S. soil.
This never would have happened under President Trump.
Trump’s maximum pressure campaign kept terrorists on the run and afraid to even think about attacking Americans.
But Biden’s weakness projected around the world has emboldened America’s enemies.
Now our greatest heroes are being hunted in their own retirement communities.
The men who spent years keeping America safe from terrorism are now being terrorized themselves.
This is exactly what happens when America shows weakness on the world stage.
Terrorists don’t respect weakness.
They exploit it.
And now they’re bringing their war to America’s doorstep, targeting the very men who dedicated their lives to protecting this country.
These retired special forces personnel deserve better than to live in fear after serving their country with honor.
They earned the right to a peaceful retirement, not to be looking over their shoulders for terrorists seeking revenge.
President Trump needs to make it clear that any terrorist who targets American veterans will face the full might of the U.S. military.
America’s heroes shouldn’t have to live in fear in their own country.
