Barack Obama's presidential legacy is crumbling before our eyes.
The smoking gun evidence keeps piling up.
And Barack Obama was fuming after this sick plan to silence Americans blew up in his face.
Obama's 2022 Stanford speech laid out the censorship blueprint
In April 2022, Barack Obama delivered a speech at Stanford University's Cyber Policy Center that read like a instruction manual for government censorship.¹
Six days later, President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security announced the creation of a "Disinformation Governance Board" to serve as an Orwellian Ministry of Truth with the goal of controlling what information Americans could access online.²
The timing wasn't coincidental.
Obama's Stanford address outlined a sweeping proposal for government censorship of social media platforms through something called the Platform Accountability and Transparency Act.³
The plan? Authorize the National Science Foundation to fund supposedly independent NGOs to censor the internet.⁴
DHS and the Stanford Internet Observatory pioneered this censorship-by-proxy strategy as a way to circumvent the First Amendment in 2020 with posts raising concerns about the election and in 2021 with narratives questioning the COVID vaccine.⁵
Scary Poppins tried to make censorship cute
Enter Nina Jankowicz, the woman Democrats tapped to run their Ministry of Truth.
Jankowicz became Executive Director of DHS' Disinformation Governance Board in April 2022.⁶
She thought it clever to turn a song from Mary Poppins into a disinformation ditty, singing her way through TikTok videos about how she'd police speech.⁷
Americans saw right through the act.
What Jankowicz assumed would be whimsical artifice, the rest of us recognized for what it was: an attempt to shove government censorship down our throats with a spoonful of sugar.
Jankowicz was roundly mocked, and DHS' disinformation agenda got dragged into the open when they would have preferred it be kept behind the scenes.⁸
The board was "paused" after just three weeks, and Jankowicz resigned in disgrace.⁹
But here's what the media won't tell you: the Disinformation Governance Board was already up and running as early as February 2022 with a "steering group" holding weekly meetings to set policy and strategy.¹⁰
They were already partnering with Big Tech, scheduling meetings with Facebook and creating a portal to share information with foreign governments.¹¹
Even George Soros' dark money group, Omidyar Network, was coordinating with them on policy for censoring speech.¹²
The Stanford connection runs deep and cost you millions
Obama's vision centered on legislation that would authorize supposedly independent NGOs to censor the internet.
Your tax dollars funded the whole operation.
And Stanford University was ground zero for making it happen.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan's investigation exposed how DHS created a Stanford University "disinformation" team to censor Americans before the 2020 election.¹³
The Stanford Internet Observatory volunteered to lead the "disinformation" group, officially titled the Election Integrity Partnership, in collaboration with the University of Washington and other organizations.¹⁴
Emails obtained by Congress revealed how the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency worked with these groups to censor speech on a massive scale.¹⁵
The censorship included topics the government deemed dangerous: election fraud claims, Hunter Biden's laptop story, and the COVID lab leak theory.¹⁶
All of which turned out to be true.
But you weren't allowed to discuss them because Obama's censorship machine flagged them as "misinformation."
Stanford students were hired to flag content on social media platforms that challenged mainstream narratives.¹⁷
Teams of students used algorithms to target posts questioning Democrat talking points, all while claiming they were defending democracy.¹⁸
These weren't random volunteers. They were paid staff using government-funded systems to silence conservatives.
The scale was breathtaking. Thousands of posts flagged. Millions of Americans censored. All coordinated through a "ticketing workflow management system" that Big Tech companies used to remove content the government didn't like.¹⁹
Trump proved he was right all along about the censorship threat
Trump's 2024 victory dealt a severe blow to Obama's censorship apparatus.
President Trump defunded much of the Censorship Industrial Complex and the Platform Accountability Act went nowhere in Congress.¹⁹
Trump understood what the media refused to acknowledge: Democrats built a massive government-funded machine to silence conservatives.
And he ripped the wiring out.
Every executive order Trump signed dismantling USAID, every dollar cut from universities peddling leftist ideology, every action targeting NGOs coordinating censorship – it all cut straight to the heart of Obama's vision.²⁰
The critics said Trump was paranoid about a "deep state" conspiracy to silence dissent.
Turns out he was right.
Obama flees to Europe after American rejection
While America rejected his vision, Obama found a new audience across the Atlantic.
He's traveled to Poland, Hungary, London, and Dublin throughout 2024 and 2025, speaking with "democracy activists" and at economic panels.²¹
Translation: he's coordinating with European censorship officials who share his contempt for free speech.
Obama's scheduled for his fourth consecutive trip to Poland in May 2025.²²
At the end of September 2024, the Stanford Cyber Policy Center – led by Obama's former ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul – hosted a secret dinner between its leaders and top censorship officials from Europe, the UK, Brazil, California, and Australia.²³
The meeting was titled "Compliance and Enforcement in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape."²⁴
That's not academic research. That's plotting how to silence dissent on a global scale.
Frank McCourt, the same donor who previously funded the Stanford Internet Observatory's censorship efforts, financed the gathering through his "Project Liberty Institute."²⁵
And Nina Jankowicz? She started her own disinformation organization in 2024 called "The American Sunlight Project."²⁶
She regularly appears as a witness or panelist at European forums seeking to tighten the censorship net.²⁷
In April 2025, while Obama was in Poland, Jankowicz appeared before a European special committee, maligning America and President Trump as enemies of free speech and dangers to democracy.²⁸
The woman who tried to create America's Ministry of Truth is now teaching Europeans how to silence their citizens.
What's happening in Europe is coming here unless we stop it
Foreign governments including Europe, the UK, Brazil, and Australia are now demanding censorship of Americans.
And it's not theoretical anymore.
The UK government arrests 30 people per day for "offensive" social media posts.²⁹
Think about that. Thirty arrests. Every single day. For posts.
They're attempting to censor 4Chan, which doesn't even have servers in the UK.³⁰
Brazil has been censoring journalists and policymakers for years, incarcerating people for legal social media content and threatening prosecution of American journalists.³¹
Several European nations are censoring and arresting their citizens, preventing opposition political candidates from running for office, and preparing to implement digital IDs that give governments unprecedented control to silence dissent.³²
This is what Obama wants for America.
And here's the threat Americans need to understand: U.S. tech companies might find it cheaper to have a single global censorship regime rather than fight foreign governments.³³
Facebook already complied with Biden administration censorship demands because it needed Biden's help dealing with European censorship officials.³⁴
If American companies cave to European pressure, your posts questioning election integrity, your concerns about vaccine mandates, your criticisms of Democrat policies – all of it could get you banned or worse.
Obama failed to silence Americans through DHS and Stanford.
So now he's building a global censorship machine that American tech companies will be pressured to enforce.
As Obama's legacy crumbles in the United States, he's working overtime to export his censorship vision to countries that will embrace it – then force it back on Americans through the backdoor.
American tech companies need to make a choice right now: stand with free speech or bow to Obama's European censorship regime.
And Americans need to demand they choose correctly.
