The radical Left’s favorite street army just learned they might face some serious consequences.
One Texas Congresswoman isn’t playing games anymore with these domestic terrorists.
And a top Republican wants to use one mafia law to devastate Antifa.
Professional agitators disguised as protesters finally got caught
Everyone knows Antifa isn’t some grassroots movement of concerned citizens.
These are professional agitators with funding, coordination, and military-style equipment who’ve been terrorizing American communities for years.
But what happened on July 4th at the ICE Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas proved exactly what conservatives have been saying all along – this isn’t protesting, it’s organized terrorism.
Nearly a dozen attackers dressed in black tactical gear and body armor didn’t show up to wave signs and chant slogans.
They came armed with AR-style rifles and a detailed plan to kill ICE corrections officers.
Here’s how the ambush unfolded: the terrorists first shot fireworks at the ICE facility to draw attention.
When two unarmed corrections officers went out to investigate, gunmen hiding in the woods opened fire.
One shooter hit an arriving police officer in the neck, while another terrorist fired 20 to 30 rounds at the defenseless corrections officers.
Acting U.S. Attorney Susan Larson called it exactly what it was: "a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers."¹
This wasn’t a protest that got out of hand – this was a coordinated military-style assault on American law enforcement.
Van Duyne’s solution treats terrorists like the criminals they are
U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) has had enough of watching these domestic terrorists operate with impunity.
Her solution is brilliant in its simplicity: treat Antifa exactly like we treated the mafia.
"We’ve only seen it get worse, and until we start treating them as the terrorists that they are, we’re not taking it seriously," Van Duyne told The Center Square.²
Van Duyne introduced the Stop Financial Underwriting of Nefarious Demonstrations and Extremist Riots (Stop FUNDERs) Act in July.
The bill would add rioting, funding and organizing violent activities as crimes under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act – better known as RICO.
The RICO Act of 1970 was designed to destroy organized crime by following the money and prosecuting entire criminal enterprises.
It’s the same law that finally brought down the mafia by going after not just the soldiers, but the bosses and financiers who made it all possible.
Van Duyne pointed out the obvious comparison that Democrats desperately don’t want anyone making.
"I was no more concerned about Antifa’s First Amendment rights than with the mafia’s First Amendment rights," she explained.³
"These are organized malicious-style riots, violent riots, attacks on our law enforcement and on our government. I don’t think that is protected under the First Amendment."
The Left’s coordination is finally getting exposed
Look, here’s what Van Duyne figured out that terrifies the radical Left: Antifa isn’t random chaos – it’s a coordinated criminal enterprise.
The Texas attack wasn’t some spontaneous outburst of anger.
Benjamin Hanil Song, the terrorist arrested for the shooting, had been involved in violent groups for years and was previously arrested in 2020 for aggravated assault.
But here’s the kicker – police did their job and arrested him back then, but he was never prosecuted.
That’s the catch-and-release system working exactly as the Left designed it.
Van Duyne knows this pattern isn’t limited to Texas.
During the first six months of the Trump administration, attacks against ICE officers increased by 830% from California to Nebraska to New York.⁴
You don’t get an 830% increase in coordinated attacks without serious organization and funding behind it.
The Department of Justice is already investigating the coordination and financing of these riots against ICE officers, because even they can’t ignore the obvious anymore.
President Trump designated Antifa as a domestic terror organization and hosted a White House roundtable on Wednesday to discuss the threat.
"We are going to be looking very strongly at the people who fund these organizations," Trump announced.⁵
For folks who’ve watched these professional agitators operate for years, this is long overdue.
Van Duyne’s RICO approach would finally give law enforcement the tools to follow the money trail back to the puppet masters pulling the strings.
RICO worked because it let prosecutors trace the money and orders flowing between different layers of the same criminal operation.
That’s exactly what Van Duyne wants to do here. Right now, the people bankrolling these attacks stay comfortable in their mansions while sending others to do the dirty work.
Her legislation would change that equation completely.
If professional agitators want to play soldier against American law enforcement, they’re about to learn what happens when the full weight of federal law comes crashing down on their criminal enterprise.
