A Portland cop was punished for speaking this truth about ICE to protestors

Portland police have one of the toughest jobs in the country.

The department's woke brass doesn't have their backs.

And a Portland cop was punished for speaking this truth about ICE to protestors.

Portland Police Officer Reassigned After Viral ICE Protest Video

An unidentified Portland Police Bureau officer was caught on video outside the city's ICE facility when protestors pressed him about the shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.

The protestors wanted the officer to condemn ICE agent Jon Ross for firing three shots that killed Good after she tried to pull her Honda Pilot forward while he stood near the front of the vehicle.

The officer answered protesters' questions directly.

"Sometimes criminals get shot if they threaten a cop," the officer said.

A protester behind the camera asked if he would have shot Good.

"If she drove a car at me, yes," the officer replied.

The video went viral on TikTok, and Portland's woke leadership immediately caved to the mob.

Police Chief Bob Day reassigned the officer the next morning while the department investigated complaints about the footage.

Day claimed the department needed to maintain "community trust" and ensure officers "consistently represent professional standards."

Chief Bob Day Cried Over Tren de Aragua Gang Members Days Earlier

This is the same Police Chief Bob Day who broke down in tears while admitting the Department of Homeland Security was right about two people shot by Border Patrol agents having ties to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

Day wiped away tears as he confirmed Luis David Nico Moncada and Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras had connections to the violent criminal organization.

The two were shot after Moncada weaponized his vehicle and tried to run over federal agents during a targeted vehicle stop.

Day's voice cracked as he apologized to Portland's Latino community for even having to mention the gang ties.

"I want to speak for just a moment specifically to my Latino community," Day said while fighting back tears.

"It saddens me that we even have to qualify these remarks because I understand or at least have attempted to understand through your voices, your concern, your fear, your anger."

Day insisted the gang affiliation information was "in no way meant to disparage or to condone or support or agree with any of the actions that occurred."

ICE Director Todd Lyons later questioned Day's emotional response on Fox News.

"I have no idea what he's crying about," Lyons said.

"I would think that he would be happy that we take these criminal elements out of his neighborhoods."

Portland Officials Side With Anti-ICE Protesters Over Police

While Day shed tears for gang members, the officer he just punished never lost his composure during the confrontation.

Angry protestors hurled racist accusations at him throughout the exchange.

Another protester called him a "piece of s***" after the officer explained that criminals sometimes get shot when they threaten police.

The officer appeared completely unfazed.

He doubled down when asked again, saying he would absolutely shoot someone who drove a car at him.

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson praised Day's handling of the situation and declared that Portlanders "need to know their local leaders and law enforcement are on their side."

Wilson called Good's death "a horrific example of the same chaos and violence federal overreach has unleashed on Portland."

Councilor Angelita Morillo went even further, claiming she was "enraged" by the video.

"We need them to be in a neutral de-escalatory position, and what I saw there was our police acting as counter-protestors," Morillo complained.

The officer stated basic law enforcement protocol.

Vehicle as weapon equals deadly force authorized.

It's only controversial to Portland's far-left political leadership who cry over gang members while punishing cops who tell the truth.
