Conservative Americans are feeling more and more threatened under the regime of weaponised government ushered in by Democrats.

But the all-out assault on freedom in America is just getting started.

And a federal Judge just dropped the gloves on Fox News anchor Shannon Bream.

There are too many laws in America

The United States federal government became a leviathan in the 20th century.

And the size and scope of the government grew far beyond what the Founding Fathers ever envisioned.

Federal regulations created by unelected bureaucrats in the federal government have created more laws than anyone can comprehend.

The Federal Register – a publication of all the federal rules and regulations – has grown to more than 90,000 pages.

No one is sure how many pages are in the federal tax code because it’s grown so big.

The federal, state, and local governments have more laws than anyone can comprehend.

Author Harvey Silverglate wrote a book, Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent, that argued the average person commits three felonies a day without even realizing it because of the incomprehensible maze of federal laws.

Supreme Court Justice warns citizens are hammered by too many laws

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch is promoting his new book Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law about the explosion of laws in the country.

He said that the average American is “getting whacked” by the staggering number of laws and regulations.

Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream interviewed him about the book.

“I think it will be eye opening to the American people, the idea that so pretty much of our conduct is over regulated and over criminalized many cases,” Bream said. “Apparently you and I are committing felonies every day without possibly even knowing it.”

“I think that might be true,” Gorsuch replied. “Some professors say there are now so many federal laws on the books that every American over the age of 18 commits one felony a day.”

Gorsuch pointed to Congress and federal bureaucrats for the growth in new laws and regulations.

“That’s happened in my lifetime,” Gorsuch explained. “1970 to the present we’ve seen maybe a doubling the number of federal crimes on the books. And this just counts within the U.S. code passed by Congress and the tip of the iceberg because federal agencies have been busy.”

There’s a delicate balancing act with the law according to Gorsuch.

“On the one hand we need laws to keep us free and safe. On the other hand, if you have too many laws, you impair those same freedoms and our aspirations for equality, too, because who can deal with a world with so much law? James Madison said it’s going to be the people with money and connections,” Gorsuch stated.

He said that during his career as a judge, he’s seen ordinary Americans suffer from the explosive growth in laws.

“As a judge, now for 18 years, I just came to see case after case in which ordinary Americans — just trying to live their lives, not hurt anybody, raise their families — who are just getting whacked by laws unexpectedly,” Gorsuch lamented.

The Founding Fathers would be horrified at the out of control Big Government.
