Democrat judges are the leaders of the resistance against Trump.
They ignored the law to undermine him.
And a Democrat judge resigned after she was convicted of this sick crime against Trump's agenda.
Trump's DOJ Just Made History Prosecuting Sitting Judge
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan finally resigned Saturday after her December felony conviction for obstructing federal immigration agents — the first time in recent memory a sitting judge faced federal prosecution for helping an illegal alien escape arrest.
Dugan actively helped Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a 31-year-old Mexican national who illegally reentered the U.S. after deportation, escape arrest right in her own courthouse on April 18, 2025.¹
Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents showed up at the Milwaukee County Courthouse with an administrative warrant to arrest Flores-Ruiz for immigration violations.
Instead of cooperating with federal law enforcement, Dugan confronted the agents and questioned their authority.
She directed them to the chief judge's office to keep them distracted while she personally escorted Flores-Ruiz and his attorney out through a private jury door.²
Agents spotted the group fleeing and chased them down outside after a foot pursuit.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security deported Flores-Ruiz in November.
Attorney General Pam Bondi made it crystal clear what the Justice Department thought of Dugan's stunt back in April when charges were filed.
"The allegations against Judge Dugan and Judge Cano are serious: no one, least of all a judge, should obstruct law enforcement operations," Bondi said in a press release. "Doing so imperils the safety of our law enforcement officers and undermines the rule of law. The Department of Justice will continue to follow the facts — no one is above the law."³
Federal prosecutors charged Dugan with felony obstruction of proceedings, carrying up to five years in prison, and misdemeanor concealment to prevent arrest.
After six hours of jury deliberation in December, they convicted her on the felony obstruction charge but acquitted her on the misdemeanor count.
Dugan's looking at serious prison time when sentencing comes.
Wisconsin Republicans Threaten Impeachment
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Majority Leader Tyler August issued a joint statement on December 19 calling for Dugan's immediate resignation.
They cited the Wisconsin Constitution's ban on convicted felons holding public office.
"Wisconsinites deserve to know that their judiciary is impartial and that justice is blind. Judge Hannah Dugan is neither, and her privilege of serving the people of Wisconsin has come to an end," they declared.⁴
The Republican lawmakers vowed to initiate impeachment if she refused — the first such action against a Wisconsin judge since 1853.
Facing certain impeachment in the Republican-controlled legislature, Dugan caved and sent her resignation letter to Tony Evers, Wisconsin's Democrat Governor who's been cozy with sanctuary policies since day one.
In the letter, she defended her decade on the bench while claiming she handled "thousands of cases with a commitment to treat all persons with dignity and respect, to act justly, deliberately and consistently, and to maintain a courtroom with the decorum and safety the public deserves."
She tried framing her legal battle as a fight for "judicial independence" and expressed a "heavy heart" about stepping down to avoid a "partisan fight in the state legislature."⁵
A spokesman for Evers confirmed receipt of the letter and claimed the governor would "work to fill the vacancy without delay."
Liberal judges spent decades turning courtrooms into sanctuaries where federal law took a back seat to their political opinions.
They gave speeches about "judicial independence" while systematically dismantling immigration enforcement one ruling at a time.
Americans paid the price in crime, drugs, and chaos.
Trump highlighted Dugan's case as his administration launched the most aggressive immigration crackdown in decades after four years of Biden's open-border disaster.
Democrats screamed that Trump was making an example of Dugan to intimidate other judges who might defy deportation orders.
Dugan thought her black robe let her physically help a twice-deported illegal alien escape federal agents with a lawful warrant.
The jury convicted her on felony charges.
Trump's DOJ prosecuted a sitting judge for obstruction — previous administrations never had the guts.
Wisconsin Republicans threatened immediate impeachment unless she resigned.
Dugan got caught helping a twice-deported criminal flee federal custody, twelve jurors convicted her, and she quit in disgrace rather than face impeachment.
Democrats call it a constitutional crisis.
Wrong.
Accountability.
Judges in sanctuary jurisdictions just learned they can't hide behind their robes while obstructing federal law enforcement.
Trump's message rings clear: cooperate with ICE or face prosecution.
