Charlie Kirk was shot dead on a Utah Valley University campus one year ago.
A New York City kitten rescue marked that anniversary with a very specific kitten photo.
What this rescue posted on Kirk assassination day should end their nonprofit status.
Samantha Knox Posted "NO F***ING MAGA" and Banned Conservative Adopters
Itty Bitty City Kitties is based in Rockaway Beach, New York, describes itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and claims its mission is saving orphaned and neonatal kittens.
Director Samantha Knox published a Facebook post making the organization's adoption policy unmistakable.
"MAGA? Nope. Conservative? Nope. 'I'm not political'? Nice loophole. Still nope," the post read.
An image of a wide-eyed kitten carried the words "NO. F—ING. MAGA." in block letters.
Knox described the ideal adopter as someone with "a tote bag collection, oat milk, an aggressively progressive group chat, a compost bin, NPR playing somewhere in the background, and someone who has rage-donated to mutual aid at least once."
The post also declared: "Applications are open for people whose values align with ours, and yes, references will be checked to make sure you're not a racist piece of s–t."
Libs of TikTok pushed the post to a broader audience on X, and conservatives immediately wanted to know whether Knox actually turns applicants away at the door.
Fox News Digital put the question directly to Knox: could a self-identified MAGA supporter or conservative – someone with no record of harming animals – get approved?
She never gave a yes-or-no answer.
"Itty Bitty City Kitties does not screen or reject applicants based on registered political party affiliation," Knox told Fox News Digital. "MAGA is a political movement and ideology, not a recognized political party."
That is a distinction without a practical difference when the rescue's own Facebook page says "NO. F—ING. MAGA."
Itty Bitty City Kitties Posted "Kittens Don't Mourn Nazis" on Charlie Kirk Assassination Day
The MAGA ban would be outrageous enough – then came September 10.
One year after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Itty Bitty City Kitties posted an image of a kitten carrying the words "Kittens. Don't. Mourn. Nazis."
Text on the image read, "For absolutely no reason at all on this day one year later…" The caption added: "Just a little kitten making sure we all know where we stand." The hashtags included "#politics" and "#iykyk."
Charlie Kirk was not a Nazi.
He was a conservative activist murdered at Utah Valley University, and this nonprofit chose an orphaned kitten to mark the anniversary of his killing and deliver its verdict on his memory.
A tax-exempt charity that behaves this way is not an animal welfare organization – it is a political operation with a nonprofit shield.
PETA Founder Ingrid Newkirk Calls for the MAGA Adoption Ban to End
PETA – not an organization known for restraint – looked at this policy and called for it to end.
PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk told Fox News Digital that homeless animals have no opinion on abortion, global warming, Palestine, or Israel.
"They care if you love them and will give them a good home," Newkirk said.
Newkirk called for the policy to be abolished, labeling it "humancentric."
When PETA is the one urging restraint, Knox has gone somewhere the rest of the left should not follow.
The MAGA Adoption Ban Could Cost Itty Bitty City Kitties Its Nonprofit Status
Itty Bitty City Kitties holds 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status – a designation that comes with legal obligations.
Charitable nonprofits cannot engage in political campaign activity, cannot endorse or oppose political movements, and must operate within their stated charitable mission.
The organization's stated mission is saving neonatal kittens.
Its public adoption requirements – listed on the rescue's own website – say nothing about MAGA, conservatism, NPR subscriptions, or political ideology of any kind.
Knox's Facebook page disagrees.
The Trump administration has made clear it intends to scrutinize nonprofits operating outside their charitable missions or engaging in illegal discrimination, and organizations in those crosshairs are already feeling the pressure.
A nonprofit that publicly screens out adopters based on political beliefs and uses kitten imagery to celebrate the assassination anniversary of a prominent conservative is not an animal welfare organization.
It is a political action committee that happens to also have cats.
The IRS does not need a lengthy investigation – the evidence is public, timestamped, and sitting on Facebook.
