Democrats Announce Plans to Impeach Hegseth the Moment They Win the House
Congressional Democrats went public this week with their agenda for Pete Hegseth if they flip the House in November.
They're not being subtle about it.
Rep. Pat Ryan of New York said it directly: "Hegseth and crew better buckle up and lawyer up because we are coming at them full on."
Rep. Robert Garcia of California – who would chair the House Oversight Committee if Democrats take the majority – said Hegseth "should not be in office" and that impeachment is already under active discussion.
Rep. Jason Crow of Colorado mapped out the playbook: hearings, briefings, information requests, subpoenas.
"We will use all of the tools we can," Crow said.
A group of Democrat lawmakers already introduced formal impeachment articles against Hegseth in April, accusing him of conducting an "unauthorized war" in Iran and mishandling classified information.
The Pentagon fired back.
Spokesperson Kingsley Wilson called Hegseth "a transformative leader" and said "the entire department is unified behind the secretary's vision."
Hegseth Fired the Generals Who Built the Pentagon DEI Apparatus
Hegseth's real sin isn't the Iran war.
It's that he stripped the Left's cultural revolution out of the United States military.
By 2022, Pentagon spending on DEI programs had ballooned to $68 million per year.
Obama opened the door to transgender service members.
Biden opened it wider – funding sex-change operations, hormone therapy, and gender counseling at taxpayer expense.
DEI offices spread across every branch.
Identity month celebrations replaced training time.
The Heritage Foundation documented the damage: billions diverted from readiness, climate change programs consuming resources meant for warfighters, critical race theory pushed through the ranks, all while China watched.
Hegseth walked in and shut it down.
"No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses," he announced at Marine training hub Quantico.
DEI books got pulled from base libraries on his order.
Transgender service ended – and those who wouldn't voluntarily leave got discharged.
Generals who built their careers inside the DEI apparatus found themselves fired or passed over for promotion.
No defense secretary in recent history moved this fast – and Democrats built that apparatus over two full presidential terms.
Democrats Impeached Mayorkas Too — Except He Let Millions of Illegal Aliens In
This isn't the first time Democrats have weaponized congressional oversight against officials who threaten their institutional grip. They spent Trump’s first term going after him, now they’re coming for his cabinet too.
Republicans impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in 2024 – Biden's open borders architect – and the Democrat-controlled Senate dismissed the charges within hours.
Now Democrats want to do to Hegseth what they would never allow to be done to Mayorkas.
Mayorkas let millions of illegal aliens into the country and Democrats called him a hero.
Hegseth took drag shows out of the military and Democrats are calling him a criminal.
Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona led the April impeachment push, and Rep. Pat Ryan says the talk "will only ramp up" in the coming months.
The message to every Trump official is clear: clean up the Left's mess and we will destroy you for it.
What Democrats Are Promising to Do to Hegseth After the 2026 Midterms
Democrats need only a simple majority in the House to impeach – no supermajority, no bipartisan threshold, no constitutional standard beyond having the votes.
If they win the House in November, Hegseth is their first target and they're saying so out loud.
The man who ended Pentagon drag shows, fired the diversity generals, and restored physical fitness standards to the United States military would face a Democrat-run tribunal built on subpoena power and wall-to-wall media outrage.
Democrats aren't just playing defense for their DEI programs – they're playing offense for 2028.
A drawn-out impeachment circus gives them two years of hearings, subpoenaed documents, and media coverage designed to frame the Iran war as Trump's personal catastrophe.
Hearings become soundbites, subpoenas drive news cycles, and by the time 2028 arrives, every casualty in Iran is a ready-made campaign ad.
The Heritage Foundation warned about this years ago: the Left's DEI bureaucracy never truly leaves. It rebrands, waits, and rebuilds the moment power shifts back.
A Democrat House majority wouldn't just go after Hegseth – it would clear the path for every woke program he shut down to come roaring back, with federal subpoena power used to intimidate anyone who tried to stop them again.
They don't want the military to succeed. They want it to bleed just long enough to hand them the White House.
That's what's actually on the ballot in November.
