Joe Biden put left-wing politics ahead of America's brave veterans.
He gave wounded warriors the short end of the stick.
But Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins just pulled the plug on Biden's sick betrayal of America's heroes.
Biden Forced VA to Divert $77 Million From Healthcare to EV Chargers
Biden's VA forced the Department to hand over $77 million in 2023 for solar-powered electric vehicle charging stations.
Not a single charging station ever got built.
Meanwhile, veterans waited months for cancer screenings, radiation oncology units sat outdated, and rehabilitation facilities crumbled.
"In fiscal year 2023, the Biden White House forced VA to divert $77 million from its construction and technology budget to build solar powered electric vehicle charging stations at VA facilities," the VA announced.¹
The plan called for 140 charging stations at 34 VA locations across the country to prepare for a fleet of electric vehicles that Biden dreamed about but never materialized.
Think about that for a second.
Biden forced the VA to prepare for electric vehicles that didn't exist while veterans with cancer sat in outdated treatment facilities.
That's not incompetence. That's a deliberate choice to put Green New Deal fantasies ahead of wounded warriors.
Biden's costly infrastructure boondoggle included $7.5 billion for 500,000 charging stations nationwide by 2030.
After four years, Biden's administration built fewer than 40 stations total with billions in taxpayer money.
The program became a national embarrassment as Trump hammered Biden during the campaign for spending $7.5 billion to produce essentially nothing.
"The Democrat-controlled Congress approved this funding diversion, but the Biden administration never spent any of the money, and not a single charging station was built," the VA confirmed.²
So Biden stole $77 million from veterans' healthcare for charging stations that never materialized.
Collins inherited a department where billions sat frozen in Green New Deal fantasy projects while veterans suffered real health crises.
Secretary Collins Redirects Every Penny to Veteran Healthcare
Collins didn't waste a second redirecting that $77 million where it belongs.
"In Joe Biden's VA, the department was distracted by woke social-justice programs and green-energy boondoggles, but those days are long gone," Collins stated.³
Here's where that money is actually going now.
Oklahoma City gets $10 million to upgrade the Friendship House where veterans receive job training and rehabilitation support after coming home broken.
Providence, Rhode Island gets $21.3 million to expand the MRI ward so veterans can actually get diagnostic imaging without waiting six months.
And Jackson, Mississippi gets $13.8 million for radiation oncology equipment to treat veterans fighting cancer.
These aren't symbolic gestures.
Veterans with brain injuries, kidney disease, and head and neck cancers depend on these facilities for treatments that keep them alive.
Biden chose solar panels over saving their lives.
"VA exists to serve veterans, and we're making sure all of our resources go toward that noble purpose," Collins added.⁴
The 42-day government shutdown gave Collins the authority to shift the $77 million back to the VA's construction and technology budget where Congress originally allocated it.
Collins exercised that authority November 6 after determining veterans' healthcare took precedence over Biden's climate crusade.
You want to know what Biden's priorities look like in action?
He controlled $77 million in VA construction funds.
Veterans died waiting for cancer treatment because the radiation equipment kept breaking down. MRI machines sat idle for months. Rehabilitation centers crumbled while bureaucrats planned for charging stations nobody asked for.
Biden looked at all that suffering and said, "Let's build charging stations for electric cars instead."
That's evil.
Collins is a combat veteran himself who deployed to Iraq with the Air Force Reserve.
He spent years in Congress fighting for veterans' healthcare access.
He understands the VA exists for one purpose: serving those who wore the uniform.
Not building charging stations for Teslas that government bureaucrats might drive someday.
Not chasing Green New Deal pipe dreams while wounded warriors wait for cancer treatment.
Biden's VA proved Democrats see veterans as an afterthought when climate change politics come calling.
Collins just proved the Trump Administration puts America's heroes first.
