For years, Democrats insisted Donald Trump had something to hide about Jeffrey Epstein.
They demanded investigations and leaked innuendo to make voters believe Trump was connected to Epstein's crimes.
But Jeffrey Epstein's cellmate revealed one scary detail about the Deep State.
Convicted murderer makes explosive claim about Epstein prosecution
Nicholas Tartaglione shared a Manhattan jail cell with Jeffrey Epstein for several weeks in July 2019 before the disgraced financier's death.¹
The 57-year-old ex-cop is currently serving four consecutive life sentences after his 2023 conviction for torturing and murdering four men in 2016 over stolen drug money.²
Tartaglione filed a pardon application this summer revealing what Epstein allegedly told him about federal prosecutors while they bunked together at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
According to the filing obtained by the New York Post, Epstein claimed lead prosecutor Maurene Comey offered him his freedom if he'd implicate President Trump in crimes.³
"Prosecutors … told Epstein that if he said President Trump was involved with Epstein's crimes he would walk free," Tartaglione wrote in the petition.⁴
The pardon application details what Epstein allegedly described as an extraordinary offer from the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey.
"Epstein told me that [lead prosecutor] Maurene Comey said that he didn't have to prove anything, as long as President Trump's people could not disprove it," the filing states.⁵
"According to Maurene Comey, the FBI were 'her people, not his [President Trump's],'" Tartaglione added.⁶
Even more damning — Tartaglione claims Epstein told him "President Trump was not involved in Epstein's crimes."⁷
Comey prosecution team had Trump in crosshairs from day one
Maurene Comey served as one of the lead prosecutors on both the Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell cases.⁸
She worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York for nearly a decade, prosecuting high-profile cases involving gang members, drug traffickers, and murderers.⁹
But her biggest cases all had one thing in common — they touched figures in President Trump's orbit or could be used against him politically.
The Trump administration fired Maurene Comey in July 2025, though the Department of Justice refused to provide a reason for her termination.¹⁰
Sources familiar with the situation told CNN that "being a Comey is untenable in this administration" given her father James Comey's constant attacks on Trump.¹¹
Her father, the disgraced former FBI Director, is currently under investigation for false statements to Congress related to the Russia collusion hoax.¹²
Trump fired James Comey in 2017 during the FBI's investigation into alleged ties between Trump's campaign and Russia — an investigation that found no evidence of collusion.
Now Tartaglione's claims suggest the apple didn't fall far from the tree when it came to targeting Trump.
The deal Epstein allegedly refused tells the real story
The pardon petition doesn't specify what crimes prosecutors wanted Epstein to pin on Trump.
At the time of his death in August 2019, Epstein faced charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy.¹³
But he was also suspected in a laundry list of other crimes including financial misdealing, money laundering, and blackmail.
Senate Democrat Dick Durbin claimed in July 2025 that FBI agents reviewing Epstein files in early 2025 were instructed to "flag" any documents mentioning President Trump.¹⁴
That revelation came after Attorney General Pam Bondi briefed Trump in May that his name appeared in Epstein investigation documents — though sources said the files contained "several unsubstantiated claims that the Justice Department found not to be credible."¹⁵
Democrats spent years insinuating Trump had something to hide about Epstein despite zero evidence connecting him to any crimes.
Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in the early 2000s after the financier allegedly made inappropriate advances toward a young woman at the club.¹⁶
The two men hadn't spoken in years by the time Epstein was arrested in 2019.
But that didn't stop the Biden Justice Department from deploying the daughter of Trump's biggest FBI enemy to prosecute the case.
Federal prosecutors' credibility crumbles
Tartaglione's credibility isn't perfect given his murder convictions.
His lawyers have claimed for years that evidence in his case was manipulated and that video footage was "altered, spliced, mutilated and destroyed" to suit prosecutors.¹⁷
But if what Epstein told him is true, it reveals the depths Democrats would sink to destroy Trump.
The Trump administration concluded in July 2025 that there was no Epstein "client list" and no evidence that anyone else should be prosecuted in connection with his crimes.¹⁸
FBI Director Kash Patel testified in September that he's never spoken to Trump about the Epstein files and that there were no photos showing Trump with girls of an "uncertain age."¹⁹
Patel also said there was "no credible information" that Epstein trafficked minors to others besides Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving 20 years in prison.²⁰
The whole Epstein investigation looks more like a political hit job with every new revelation.
Democrats and their allies in the Justice Department couldn't find any evidence connecting Trump to Epstein's crimes.
So according to Tartaglione, they tried to get Epstein to make something up.
When that failed, they spent five years spreading conspiracy theories to damage Trump politically.
Now Americans know the truth about how far Democrats were willing to go.
