A Biden prosecutor got one lifeline from Microsoft to wage war on conservatives

The Biden Justice Department spent four years targeting Trump and his allies.

Now, they’re continuing that fight in the private sector.

And a Biden prosecutor got one lifeline from Microsoft to wage war on conservatives.

Conservative group demands DHS review Microsoft contracts over Monaco hiring

A conservative watchdog group just dropped a bombshell letter demanding the Department of Homeland Security investigate its contracts with Microsoft after the tech giant hired Lisa Monaco as president of global affairs.

The Center to Advance Security in America told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Monaco's senior position creates a serious national security risk given her access to sensitive information flowing between Microsoft and the federal government.¹

Monaco landed the cushy Microsoft gig earlier this year after spending four years as deputy attorney general under President Joe Biden.

She personally signed off on Arctic Frost — the sweeping Biden DOJ operation that weaponized federal law enforcement to spy on the entire conservative movement.²

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley released documents in October showing Monaco, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI Director Christopher Wray all personally approved opening Arctic Frost on April 5, 2022.³

The investigation targeted at least 430 Republican entities and individuals with 197 subpoenas, including Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon, former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and eight GOP senators.⁴

Phone records, bank records, donor lists, and emails from nearly every major conservative organization got swept up in Smith's fishing expedition — including Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA.⁵

Monaco's signature authorized federal prosecutors to map the entire Republican political infrastructure under the guise of investigating election interference.

But here's what Monaco wasn't counting on.

Watchdog warns Monaco could weaponize Microsoft contracts against conservatives

CASA Director James Fitzpatrick didn't mince words about the threat Monaco poses in her new role at Microsoft.

"The risk that Monaco could again use access to information contained in Department contracts to turn against her political opponents, or even those Microsoft users within the government with whom she disagrees, is great given her past outrageous behavior," Fitzpatrick stated to DHS.⁶

Microsoft holds major contracts across the federal government providing cloud infrastructure, productivity software, and cybersecurity services to agencies including DHS, Defense Department, and Justice Department.

The company announced $3.1 billion in savings on cloud services for federal agencies just last month.⁷

Monaco now oversees Microsoft's government contracts in her role managing global affairs and policy engagement.

That means she has visibility into which government officials use Microsoft products, what data moves through Microsoft systems, and how agencies structure their IT infrastructure.

President Trump already revoked Monaco's security clearance in March along with Biden, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton.⁸

She can't access classified information and can't enter federal facilities without an escort.

But her position at Microsoft gives her a different kind of access — insight into the digital operations of the government agencies she once wielded against conservatives.

"Given Lisa Monaco's leadership role in weaponizing the Biden Department of Justice against its political enemies, as evidenced in the recently released documents detailing 'Arctic Frost', it is wholly inappropriate and a risk to national security for Monaco to have any role whatsoever in the oversight of DHS contracts at Microsoft," Fitzpatrick said in a statement.⁹

Trump demanded Microsoft fire Monaco months ago

This isn't the first warning Microsoft has received about Monaco.

President Trump blasted the tech giant in September for hiring Monaco, calling her "corrupt" and a "menace" to national security.

"Monaco has been shockingly hired as the President of Global Affairs for Microsoft, in a very senior role with access to Highly Sensitive Information," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Monaco's having that kind of access is unacceptable, and cannot be allowed to stand."¹⁰

Trump demanded Microsoft immediately terminate Monaco's employment given the company's extensive government contracts.

The president pointed out that Monaco no longer has security clearances, can't access classified information, and got banned from federal properties.

But Microsoft refused to fire Monaco despite direct pressure from the President of the United States.

The company declined to comment when contacted about Trump's demand.¹¹

Now CASA is taking a different approach by urging DHS to review whether Microsoft's contracts should continue while Monaco remains in a leadership position.

"Monaco does not have a security clearance, cannot enter federal property, and is unfit for this role," Fitzpatrick continued. "We agree with President Trump that Monaco needs to be fired and hope DHS will initiate an immediate investigation into these contracts."¹²

Microsoft and DHS both declined to comment on CASA's letter.

Monaco's past behavior shows exactly why conservatives are right to worry about her access to government contract information.

She ran the Election Threats Task Force that Garland created to combat alleged threats against election workers — while overseeing investigations into Trump and his supporters.¹³

Monaco publicly announced in January 2022 that DOJ would investigate the Trump fake electors scheme.¹⁴

Under her watch, Jack Smith's team issued subpoenas targeting nine GOP lawmakers' cell phone records — eight senators and one representative — without notifying them.¹⁵

Senator Ted Cruz discovered Smith subpoenaed his Senate office phone records from Verizon.

Judge James Boasberg ordered AT&T not to tell Cruz about the subpoena, claiming Cruz would "destroy evidence and imperil national security" if he found out.¹⁶

That's the kind of political weaponization Monaco authorized as Biden's deputy attorney general.

Republicans call Arctic Frost worse than Watergate because it used federal law enforcement to spy on an entire political party.

At least Watergate involved campaign operatives breaking into an office — Arctic Frost showed government power weaponized at the highest levels.

Now Monaco sits at Microsoft overseeing contracts with the same government agencies she once controlled as a prosecutor targeting conservatives.
