Adam Schiff spent years claiming Donald Trump was the corrupt one.
But the California Democrat’s latest move reveals he knows the tables have turned.
And Adam Schiff made one move that exposed his real panic level about this DOJ investigation.
Schiff quietly sets up legal defense fund while claiming innocence
For someone who keeps insisting the mortgage fraud allegations against him are "transparently false" and "long debunked," Adam Schiff sure is acting like a man who expects a long legal battle ahead.
The California Senator quietly established the "Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund" through an IRS filing.¹
This comes as Attorney General Pam Bondi has appointed Ed Martin as a special prosecutor to investigate allegations that Schiff committed mortgage fraud on two separate properties.²
The charges stem from Schiff allegedly claiming both a Maryland home and a California condo as his primary residence at the same time to secure better loan terms.
A grand jury in Maryland is currently weighing whether to approve criminal indictments over the allegations.³
That’s not exactly the behavior of someone who thinks this is all going to blow over quietly.
Trump was calling this out long before it became official
President Trump has been hammering Schiff over these real estate dealings for months, and it turns out he was onto something.
"Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA," Trump wrote on Truth Social back in July.⁴
"I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook."
And you know what? Trump’s instincts were dead-on again.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency referred Schiff to the DOJ back in May for allegedly misrepresenting his Maryland home as his primary residence to get more favorable loan terms.⁵
So while Schiff was busy running around Washington, D.C. calling Trump a criminal and leading impeachment efforts, he was apparently pulling his own financial shenanigans.
The irony is almost too perfect.
Schiff’s choice of attorney tells you everything
Here’s what really gives away Schiff’s desperation – he hired Preet Bharara as his attorney.
Bharara is the former U.S. attorney who Trump fired from the Southern District of New York back in 2017, and he’s been a Trump critic ever since.⁶
So Schiff didn’t just hire any defense lawyer – he specifically chose someone with a personal grudge against Trump.
That tells you this isn’t really about defending against mortgage fraud charges.
This is about Schiff trying to turn his legal troubles into another "Trump is weaponizing the justice system" narrative.
Except there’s one tiny problem with Schiff’s spin – this whole thing kicked off under Biden, not Trump.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency sent their criminal referral to the DOJ back in May, months before Trump even walked back into the Oval Office.
The bigger picture on Schiff’s corruption
Think about what we’re really looking at here.
This is the same Adam Schiff who spent years claiming he had "evidence" of Trump-Russia collusion that never materialized.
The same Adam Schiff who served as the lead impeachment manager trying to remove Trump from office.
The same Adam Schiff who sat on the January 6th committee trying to pin everything on Trump.
And all the while, he was apparently committing his own mortgage fraud to save a few bucks on loan terms.
Trump put it perfectly during his remarks at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday: "These people put our country at great danger. And Adam Schiff, it was all made up. It was a hoax."⁷
The President is right – Schiff spent years attacking Trump over made-up allegations while he was the one actually breaking the law.
Now Schiff’s spokesperson is trying to spin this as Trump "weaponizing the justice process," but that dog won’t hunt.
You don’t set up a legal defense fund if you think the charges are baseless.
You don’t hire a high-profile attorney with an ax to grind against Trump if you think this is going away quietly.
Adam Schiff knows he’s in serious legal jeopardy, and his actions prove it.
The man who spent years trying to destroy Trump is finally facing the consequences of his own corruption.
And Trump, as usual, saw it coming from miles away.
