Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thought she could get away with her usual virtue signaling routine.

AOC’s empty response to Boulder terror attack
A terror attack shocked Boulder, Colorado on Sunday when an illegal alien targeted Jewish Americans who were peacefully advocating for Israeli hostages.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, attacked participants in the weekly “Run for Their Lives” event at Pearl Street Mall.
The attacker used a homemade flamethrower and threw Molotov cocktails at the peaceful demonstrators.
Twelve victims suffered injuries, with ages spanning from 52 to 88 years old.
Several required hospitalization for severe burns.
The FBI labeled the attack as terrorism targeting Jewish Americans.
Video footage captured Soliman shirtless, yelling “Free Palestine” and “End Zionists” while holding additional explosive devices.
Police arrested him at the scene after he surrendered.
Soliman had been residing in the United States unlawfully after his work permit expired in March 2025.
He originally entered on a tourist visa in August 2022.
After his initial visa expired in February 2023, he received temporary work authorization from the Biden administration but overstayed once that expired as well.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) quickly posted her typical response on social media following the attack.
“My heart is with the victims and our Jewish communities across the country,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “Antisemitism is on the rise here at home, and we have a moral responsibility to confront and stop it everywhere it exists.”
Her statement read like countless others she’s posted after similar attacks on Jewish Americans.
But this time, someone wasn’t buying her empty rhetoric.
Baseball champion destroys AOC’s hypocrisy
Former MLB All-Star Kevin Youkilis decided to call out the Squad member’s hollow words.
The two-time World Series champion, who is Jewish, fired back at AOC with a devastating response that exposed her complete lack of action.
“Jews are targeted with violence and it’s the same virtue signal post time and time again,” Youkilis responded on X. “What have you done to confront those calling for intifadas in NYC? Until you create a plan of action, your repeated virtue signaling after the violence occurs holds no weight.”
The former Red Sox star hit AOC where it hurt most – her record of inaction.
AOC always tweets sympathetic messages after Jewish Americans get attacked, but she never actually confronts the anti-Semitic hatred that fuels these attacks.
When someone asked Youkilis what specific actions he wanted from AOC, he didn’t back down from his criticism.
“Confront the radical mobs chanting for intifadas in NYC,” he replied. “That would be brave leadership, but we know politicians, on both sides of the aisle, shy away in fear of losing votes and power.”
Youkilis nailed the heart of the problem with politicians like AOC.
They care more about maintaining their political base than actually protecting innocent Americans from violence.
AOC’s record speaks louder than her words
Youkilis’s criticism hits home because AOC’s own actions prove his point.
During the chaos at Columbia University last year, AOC actually defended the anti-Israel protesters who were terrorizing Jewish students.
She called these Hamas sympathizers “peaceful” even as Jewish students were told to stay home for their safety.
Campus footage showed students openly supporting Hamas terrorists and creating a hostile environment for their Jewish classmates.
But AOC sided with the anti-Semitic mob instead of the Jewish victims.
AOC has consistently refused to condemn the radical demonstrators who march through New York City chanting for “intifadas.”
These chants explicitly call for violent uprisings against Jewish people.
The protests happen regularly in AOC’s own district, yet she never confronts these extremists or demands they stop their hate speech.
Instead, she saves her criticism for Israel while giving anti-Semites a free pass.
AOC knows that many in her political base sympathize with Hamas and despise Israel.
So she refuses to take a principled stand against anti-Semitism when it comes from her own supporters.
Politicians choose votes over victims
Youkilis exposed exactly what’s wrong with modern politicians like AOC in his response.
They’re more worried about keeping their radical supporters happy than actually protecting Americans from violence.
AOC understands that confronting anti-Semitic protesters in New York might cost her politically with her far-left base.
So she chooses political expedience over moral courage.
She’ll post meaningless statements after Jewish Americans get attacked, but she won’t do the hard work of confronting the hatred that leads to these attacks.
That’s not leadership – it’s cowardice disguised as compassion.
Kevin Youkilis, who competed at baseball’s highest level, knows what real courage looks like.
He demonstrated more backbone in his social media response than AOC has shown throughout her entire political career.
The baseball legend cut through AOC’s empty rhetoric and demanded actual action to protect Jewish Americans.
Jewish communities deserve better than politicians who offer thoughts and prayers after they’re attacked while refusing to confront the hatred that targets them.
They deserve leaders who will take real action to stop anti-Semitism, even when it’s politically difficult.
But as long as politicians like AOC prioritize their political careers over protecting victims, attacks like Boulder will keep happening.
Americans can see through the hollow virtue signaling, and Kevin Youkilis just proved it.
