A Biden lawyer has one awful scheme that left Donald Trump seeing red

The Biden administration rigged the system on their way out the door.

Now their allies are fighting tooth and nail to keep the money flowing.

And a Biden lawyer has one awful scheme that left Donald Trump seeing red.

Biden’s lawyer pulls strings behind the scenes to keep liberal cash flowing

Daniel Jacobson spent years working as the general counsel for Joe Biden’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

But he didn’t just sit behind a desk shuffling papers.

Jacobson was busy bulletproofing Biden’s grant system to make it nearly impossible for future administrations to cut off funding to left-wing organizations.

In October 2024, just months before Biden left office, Jacobson oversaw critical revisions to the Uniform Grants Guidance that completely changed the rules of the game.

The changes “radically changed the ability of the government to terminate a grant ‘if an award no longer effectuates the program goals or agency priorities,'” according to law firm Holland & Knight.

Translation: Biden’s team made it almost impossible for Trump to pull the plug on wasteful spending to woke organizations.

“Specifically, the government is unable to unilaterally terminate an award for this purpose for grants awarded after Oct. 1, 2024, unless the parties specifically included this as an express termination provision in the grant award itself,” the firm notes.

This wasn’t an accident or bureaucratic oversight.

It was a deliberate strategy to tie Trump’s hands before he even took office.

Former Biden official now cashing in on the chaos he created

Jacobson left his government position in January and immediately launched his own law firm, Jacobson Lawyers Group.

The timing couldn’t be more suspicious.

His firm’s website boasts that it offers “a full suite of services to entities impacted by the Administration’s funding actions.”

In other words, Jacobson is now getting paid to fight the very administration he spent years sabotaging.

“From his time as General Counsel at OMB, Dan has insights that few private practitioners can offer in this space, paired with a track record of litigation success,” his law firm’s website states.

Those “insights” are exactly what make this situation so troubling.

Jacobson knows every trick, every loophole, and every weak spot in the system because he helped design it.

Ethics questions swirl around Biden’s inside man

Michael Chamberlain, director of Protect the Public’s Trust, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Jacobson’s involvement “raises many questions.”

Chamberlain pointed out that former government lawyers have “obligations regarding what legal matters they can work on after leaving government service, under both federal ethics law and under professional rules of conduct.”

Federal law prohibits former officials from attempting to influence the government on matters where they “participated personally and substantially as such officer or employee.”

“If a government lawyer were to learn client confidences or secrets during his representation of an agency and use such information in litigation against that very same agency, it could very well implicate these ethics obligations,” Chamberlain explained.

The situation gets even more questionable when you look at Jacobson’s legal team.

He isn’t operating alone in this scheme.

His law firm is packed with other former Biden administration officials who are now working to undermine Trump’s agenda.

Lynn Eisenberg used to be the principal deputy general counsel for the Department of Education before joining Jacobson’s team.

Robin Runge served on the Department of Labor’s transition team and now works alongside Jacobson.

Even more troubling, John Robinson and Kyla Snow both came straight from Biden’s Department of Justice to Jacobson’s firm.

Snow’s background is particularly revealing – she spent her time at DOJ defending the Biden administration’s censorship efforts in the Missouri v. Biden free speech case.

This isn’t just a law firm – it’s a revolving door of Biden administration officials now working to undermine Trump.

Jacobson leads the resistance against Trump’s reforms

Jacobson isn’t just theoretically opposed to Trump – he’s actively fighting the new administration in court.

His name appears in connection with at least five lawsuits against the Trump administration, all designed to keep Biden’s money flowing to left-wing causes.

Climate United sued in March over EPA’s “de facto suspension” of a grant awarded in 2024 by taking “behind-the-scenes efforts to cause Citibank to withhold” funds in an account.

Jacobson also sued OMB directly over its decision to stop operating a website that makes budget information public.

Trump’s OMB Director Russ Vought expressed concern that disclosing “sensitive, predecisional, and deliberative information” could “pose a danger to national security and foreign policy.”

But Jacobson doesn’t care about national security concerns – he just wants to keep the Biden gravy train rolling.

He filed another lawsuit seeking disbursement of frozen USAID funds to multiple groups, including the American Bar Association.

“Neither the President nor his subordinates have authority to thwart duly enacted statutes and substitute their own funding preferences for those that Congress has enacted through legislation,” the lawsuit alleges.

Jacobson also appeared in lawsuits against the Education Department over terminated diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) grants and against the Department of Health and Human Services for canceling grants, including one to “develop a research center on the strengths and needs of Hispanic children and families with low incomes.”

Every single one of these lawsuits has the same goal: force taxpayers to keep funding left-wing organizations that Trump voters explicitly rejected.

The swamp fights back

This is exactly the kind of corruption that Trump promised to drain from the Washington, D.C. swamp.

Biden administration officials spent their final months in office rigging the system to benefit their political allies.

Now those same officials are cashing in by representing the very organizations they helped fund with taxpayer money.

It’s a perfect example of how the swamp operates – government officials use their positions to benefit their friends, then get rich representing those same friends against the people’s choice for President.

Jacobson declined to respond to requests for comment, probably because he knows exactly how bad this looks.

The American people voted for change, but the Biden administration’s allies are doing everything they can to preserve their corrupt system.

This is why draining the swamp is so difficult – the swamp creatures don’t just disappear when they leave office.

They become lobbyists and lawyers who use their inside knowledge to fight against the reforms that voters demanded.
