Tucker Carlson’s feud with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro just reached a boiling point.
The two conservative media personalities have been at odds for months.
And Tucker Carlson just dropped this bombshell accusation that left Ben Shapiro shell-shocked.
Former Fox News host unloads on The Daily Wire founder
Tucker Carlson didn’t hold back during a recent appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show where he unleashed a scathing critique of Ben Shapiro.
The 55-year-old media personality accused Shapiro of “shilling” for Israel while claiming to be a patriot.
“These are people who are acting on behalf of a foreign government telling me that I’m unpatriotic,” Carlson fired back at his critics, singling out Shapiro. “And I try not to get like crazy angry about it, but it’s hard because you see these people, you know, Ben Shapiro or these shills, like come out and like attack you personally.”
When host Megyn Kelly noted that Shapiro had been “bashing” Carlson just that week, it only intensified Carlson’s frustration.
“Too much for my tiny brain to deal with”
The confrontation came after Shapiro had suggested Carlson is an “ally” of Aleksandr Dugin, a top advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
That accusation pushed Carlson over the edge.
“To attack me as a shill for another country when you yourself are shilling for another country, it’s almost too much for my tiny brain to deal with actually,” Carlson said.
Carlson, who turns 56 in two weeks, emphasized his dedication to America, stating, “I don’t have another passport, I have no plans to go anywhere — I could, I could certainly afford to move some other country — I’m not, I live directly across from my parents’ grave and I’m never leaving.”
Foreign policy frustrations at the heart of the feud
The heated exchange stemmed from disagreements over American foreign policy in the Middle East, especially regarding Iran.
Carlson expressed frustration that because he’s questioned advocates of regime change in Iran, he’s “been attacked as a tool of Iran” and “a tool of Qatar.”
“I’m a freaking Episcopalian, I am not Shiite,” Carlson insisted. “The largest American air base in the Middle East is in Qatar, they’re a close ally of ours, and all of a sudden it’s like ‘Oh, you’re taking Qatari money.’ I’ve never taken a dollar from any government. I mean are you joking?”
Not the first confrontation between the conservative commentators
This isn’t the first time Carlson has criticized Shapiro’s priorities.
In December 2023, Carlson accused Shapiro of caring more about Israel than America after the October 7 terrorist attacks.
“I’m shocked by how little they care about the country and including the person you mentioned [Shapiro],” Carlson told Saagar Enjeti at the time. “And I can’t imagine how someone like that could get an audience of people who claim to care about America, because he doesn’t, obviously.”
Despite the harsh criticism, Carlson insisted he doesn’t think Shapiro is “evil” and that he’s not “attacking him as a person.”
Instead, Carlson said he wishes Shapiro would be more straightforward about his foreign policy positions rather than attacking his patriotism.
“How much better would it be if someone like Ben Shapiro, who’s smart… could just sit and say, ‘Okay here’s what I think would happen if we joined an attack on Iran,'” Carlson said.
The bitter feud highlights growing divisions within conservative media about America’s role in international conflicts and what it means to be a patriot in today’s political landscape.
With tensions continuing to rise in the Middle East and the situation in Ukraine showing no signs of resolution, this likely won’t be the last exchange between these two influential voices on the right.
