Scott Jennings has been a thorn in the side of liberals for years.
He just put one in her place with a devastating reminder.
And Scott Jennings left Tiffany Cross speechless with this brutal reality check on CNN.
CNN panel erupts as Jennings reminds Cross of her MSNBC firing
CNN’s attempt to add “diverse viewpoints” to their programming backfired spectacularly on Wednesday when conservative commentator Scott Jennings and former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross got into a heated exchange that turned surprisingly personal.
During a segment on CNN NewsNight discussing President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, Cross bizarrely pivoted to Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland, framing it as colonial theft.
“It’s a colonizer’s attitude to say, I’ like it, I’m just gonna steal it,'” Cross declared. “You cannot just go and say, ‘I like it, it’s mine now.’ It doesn’t work that way. That is what they’re trying to do.”
Jennings, clearly confused by the sudden shift in topic, asked, “Steal what?”
“Land, land,” she responded, doubling down on her accusation. “Yeah, absolutely. When they’re looking at Greenland and say, ‘I like it, I want to take it for mine.’ That is a very colonizer attitude.”
When Jennings pushed back on Cross’s characterization of the Greenland discussions, saying, “I have never, ever said we’re going to go to Greenland and ‘colonize it or steal it.’ That’s crazy,” she dismissively attacked him personally.
“I’m not even talking about you. You’re not a member of government. So you’re irrelevant on that point,” Cross snapped.
That’s when Jennings delivered the knockout blow that left viewers stunned.
“You got fired from your job. How relevant are you?” Jennings fired back.

The comment referenced MSNBC’s decision to cut ties with Cross in November 2022, choosing not to renew her contract after a series of controversial statements that even the far-left network couldn’t stomach.
Cross tries to deflect with accusations of “personal insults”
Cross, visibly rattled by the reminder of her professional failure, attempted to turn the tables on Jennings.
“Scott, if you wanna engage in personal insults—” she began, before Jennings interrupted with, “I don’t, but you do.”
“What you lack in the legitimate point, you make up for it in personal insults,” Cross continued, seemingly unaware that she had just moments earlier called Jennings “irrelevant.”
“I don’t. You do,” Jennings shot back.
The exchange highlighted the double standard often employed by liberal commentators who dish out personal attacks but cry foul when they receive the same treatment in return.
The real issue: Trump’s America First approach to foreign policy
Lost in the personal drama was the substantive discussion about President Trump’s approach to international relations and trade.
Cross attempted to frame Trump’s foreign policy as isolationist, saying, “The point I am making is in this new world order, we are looking at countries – whether or not they’re an adversary or ally – it is being determined on what kind of deal we can get. And we cannot govern. We cannot legislate that way. We are increasingly isolated on the world stage.”
“No we’re not. We’re not isolated,” Jennings responded forcefully, rejecting the notion that Trump’s tough negotiating stance with foreign countries has damaged America’s standing.
The dustup exemplifies CNN’s failed attempt to recreate the ratings success of shows like Crossfire, where commentators from opposite ends of the political spectrum engage in heated debates.
But instead of substantive policy discussions, viewers were treated to personal attacks and bizarre tangents about colonialism.
Cross’ firing from MSNBC came after she made inflammatory comments about “white replacement” and referred to the Supreme Court’s conservative Justices as “zealots.” The network eventually decided her rhetoric had become too extreme even for their liberal audience.
Jennings, meanwhile, continues to be a respected voice for conservatives on CNN, where he regularly spars with the network’s predominantly left-leaning panel members.
The exchange serves as a reminder of the increasingly personal and divisive nature of political discourse on cable news, where substantive policy debates often take a backseat to personal attacks and gotcha moments.
