Donald Trump doesn’t follow the conventional rules of politics.
He’s continually found ways to outfox the Left.
And a Biden aide confirmed that Donald Trump had one major advantage over Democrats.
Biden aide admits Trump has an advantage with the media
President Donald Trump has a mastery of the media like no Republican in decades.
One of the top aides to former First Lady Jill Biden admitted that Trump understands how to use the media to his advantage in ways Democrats don’t.
Michael LaRosa, Jill Biden’s former press secretary, argued that Democrats need to learn from Trump’s media strategy during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle.
Host Laura Ingraham noted that former President Joe Biden’s handlers tried to carefully control his interactions with the press.
LaRosa said that Democrats don’t tolerate any criticism from the mainstream media and expect journalists to push their messaging.
Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said that Democrats believe the mainstream media should work in service of the party.
“Yeah, and the one event that Joe Biden has done since he left the White House, they also told people that they’re not allowed to record it,” Fleischer stated. “They didn’t want anybody to see it. There was no press allowed.”
“Here’s the problem that Democrats have with the press,” Fleischer explained. “They expect the press to work for them. They know that the press is ideologically aligned with them. They know that the press doesn’t like Donald Trump, and so they expect the press to fall in line.”
Republicans expect they’ll get biased coverage from the media
Fleischer noted that Republicans know that they’re going to get hammered by the press while Democrats attack the press if they don’t get glowing coverage.
“Republicans understand we’re gonna get a hard time from the press no matter what. That bar is low,” Fleischer said. “If we ever have a good day in the press, it’s because there was a low bar, and we jumped over it. And so we don’t have to worry about the press betraying us [the way] that Democrats do. And on those rare occasions when the press actually holds them to account, they can’t stand it because they think the press is their employee.”
LaRosa said that Democrats need to rethink the way they handle the media.
“I would just somewhat agree with him because I think what President Trump does is sort of what I would advise every Democrat to do, but it reflects a problem in our party,” LaRosa stated. “This culture of treating the press as a hazard instead of an opportunity.”
Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris avoided interacting with the press at all costs.
“Trump doesn’t miss the opportunity to speak to a microphone,” LaRosa explained. “He engages, and he’s proactive. It’s the opposite with Democrats. And we have to get over that because voters crave authenticity. You can’t be authentic, or you can’t be perceived as authentic if you are never in unscripted environments.”
Democrats expect the media to act as the public relations of the party.
Trump takes his message straight to voters instead of using the media to do his messaging.
