Barack and Michelle Obama were presented to the American people as a storybook romance.
However, there are rumors growing that the political power couple could be headed for Splitsville.
The chatter first began when there was a wild rumor that Barack Obama was secretly dating former Friends star Jennifer Aniston.

Then Michelle Obama was the only living First Lady not to attend the funeral of Jimmy Carter.
She also skipped Donald Trump’s inauguration even though Barack showed up.
Now the rumors of a rift between Barack and Michelle have moved from the gossip realm to the political news realm.
Conservative commentator Meghan McCain discussed the topic with Puck senior political correspondent Tara Palmeri during a podcast discussion.
McCain asked, “I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people. I’m not talking about TMZ. I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend. I’m talking about, like, very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true. . .Do you agree with that? Have you heard that? Do you think it’s just garbage?”
Palmeri answered, “Oh, yeah! I mean, I’ve certainly heard it for a while, even before Michelle said she wasn’t coming to the inauguration, which also could be interpreted as, like, another act of resistance, which would only make her, like, more — if that’s really true and they stayed together — like more of a baddie in the movement when, like, there really is no one in the Democratic Party who is, like, holding that mantle aside from AOC.”
She continued, “But yeah, we’ve heard that for a long time. Like, I just heard that they live separate lives. Like, it’s just—that’s just what happened. But they are kind of like America’s sweethearts in a lot of ways and it’s, so, I think it would be devastating.”
“A very weird photo”
Another point of conversation on the topic revolved around a picture that Barack Obama shared of him and Michelle on their anniversary.
People criticized the photo for being unflattering because of the lighting and because she was wearing a bonnet.

Palmeri mentioned the anniversary message, and McCain said that it was “a very weird photo.”
McCain elaborated, “And I think she’s a very pretty lady, and I was like, ‘This picture is not doing her justice for how beautiful she is.’ I would kill Ben [Domenech] if he put a picture of me looking like no makeup with that lighting on social media.”
Political commentator and Fox News contributor Ben Domenech is married to McCain.
She continued, “I would kill him so I. . .for me, it didn’t help the rumors, and like why are you putting this, like, s***ty picture of your wife up?”
Palmeri added, “And you know, sometimes you see this too in a lot of celebrity divorces that are being managed. They put up the post like about their love for each other before the divorce, and it’s sort of like a way to lay the groundwork so—to make people think like, ‘Oh, well it was like amicable, and they’re good people, and they want the best for each other’. . .”
Palmeri also mentioned that Barack Obama used up a lot of goodwill among Democrats when he helped kick Joe Biden out of the Presidential race.
She explained, “I also sort of wonder because like, yes, a lot of the sources that I like am hearing this through, they’re very political. Like this isn’t like TMZ crap that’s telling me about it. And I do think, like, there’s not a lot of goodwill around Obama right now because he essentially, like, orchestrated the pushing out of Joe Biden, right?”
