Melania Trump blasts the Obamas for their actions after the 2016 Election
First Lady Melania Trump usually stays out of political battles and avoids the spotlight.
But she came out swinging at former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama during an interview with Fox & Friends.
Melania said that she was more confident about her husband’s second term because the Obamas weren’t around to make things harder than they needed to be.
“The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information,” Melania said about when her husband was inaugurated in 2017. “The information was withheld from us by the previous administration.”
Michelle Obama raised eyebrows when she became the only former First Lady to skip Trump’s inauguration.
“But this time I have everything,” Melania stated. “it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”
Former President Joe Biden’s administration was more cooperative this time.
Melania revealed that it’s a quick transition from one President to the next at the White House.
“They’re still living there and will be out on January 20,” Melania explained. “The transition team has only five hours to move Bidens out to move us in.”
Melania Trump is ready to hit the ground running
Donald Trump returned to the White House with four years of experience from his first term and a clear vision of what he wants to accomplish early on.
The same applies to the First Lady.
Melania told Fox & Friends she knows “the rules” and “process” of the White House.
“I have the plans, I already packed, I have selected the furniture,” Melania said. “So it’s a very different transition this time.”
This time she feels like people view her differently as First Lady.
“I just feel that people didn’t accept me,” Melania explained. “Maybe they didn’t understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn’t have much support.”
“Maybe some people see me as just a wife of the President, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent,” Melania continued. “I have my own thoughts, I have my own, ‘yes’ and ‘no.’”
She said that she was looking forward to her husband’s second term.
“I think it will be an exciting four years,” Melania said. “We have a lot to do to put the country back in shape.”
Melania isn’t the political brawler her husband is.
It’s very unusual that she would take a swipe at the Obamas in public.
Michelle Obama skipped the inauguration because of the bad blood she had for Donald Trump.
“There’s no overstating her feelings about [Trump]. She’s not one to plaster on a pleasant face and pretend for protocol’s sake,” a source close to Michelle told PEOPLE. “Michelle doesn’t do anything because it’s expected or it’s protocol or it’s tradition.”
The feud between the Obamas and the Trumps is escalating in the new year.
