Justine Bateman calls out the Left
Democrats and their media allies pushed the Orange Man Bad narrative for eight years.
Anti-Donald Trump sentiment was used as a justification for everything, including the revocation of First and Second Amendment rights.
Suddenly, liberals were writing New York Times op-eds talking about how free speech was “dangerous” and “problematic.”
The entertainment industry was hit hard with censorship.
Comedians were getting “canceled” left and right.
When comedians are getting censored, that is a clear sign that a political movement is becoming totalitarian.
However, Donald Trump not only won the Electoral College in 2024, but he won the popular vote.
His victory signaled that people were fed up with excessive “wokeness.”
Hollywood actress and filmmaker Justine Bateman has been making that exact point.
Bateman, who starred in the 1980s sitcom Family Ties, has been very outspoken about the 2024 election and how Trump’s victory lifted the pall of silence that had been put over the country.
She told Fox News host Jesse Watters, “What I’m really excited about is that the political correctness, the sort of woke era is over. When Trump won the presidency again, that cut that momentum off. So this whole woke era is over. . .It’s a spiritual shift. It started when Elon Musk bought Twitter and turned it into X and it really changed when Donald Trump won this presidency. I can feel it.”
“Selective Activism”
Bateman recently opined on the execution-style murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson.
She commented, “The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was the first time I can remember where a shooting wasn’t immediately followed by a demand for gun control. Selective Activism.”

Bateman is correct.
Because the alleged shooter has been left-coded—he supposedly wrote a manifesto railing against the healthcare system—he has garnered a lot of sympathy from the Left.
Suddenly, there has not been any discourse about gun control.
Democrats and their media allies are constantly guilty of “selective activism,” as Bateman put it.
For example, they only care about unjust police shootings when the story can be framed through a racial lens.
So if a bad shooting occurs and the victim is white, the story never gets national attention.
The Left are always looking for stories to activate their base.
They know that stories about a random white guy getting shot will not mobilize left-wing activist groups.
Other leftists have outright called the shooter a hero and celebrated the CEO’s death.
Among the revelers was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
That is how unhinged some leftists have become.
They have zero empathy for people who challenge their worldview in any way.
But now they are poised to lose some of the ability to censor their political opponents they’ve held over Americans for the last decade or so.
Sadly, it seems more than a few leftists simply can’t handle that and have acted out in violent fashion.
