Vice President Kamala Harris has tried to distance herself from her past support of the Green New Deal.
She was one of the sponsors of it in the Senate and pledged to abolish the Senate filibuster to pass it during her failed 2020 Presidential campaign.
Her campaign put out an anonymous statement that she no longer supports the Green New Deal.
Kamala is trying to act like a moderate on climate change in public, but her campaign quietly added one of the architects behind the proposed ban on gas stoves.
Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka, Jr. told Bloomberg News that a ban on gas stoves was on the table because they’re a “hidden hazard.”
The Biden-Harris administration was forced to walk back the proposal after widespread outrage and embarrassing photos of Kamala and First Lady Jill Biden using gas stoves.
Kamala’s campaign hired Camila Thorndike to serve as its new climate engagement director.
Thorndike comes to the campaign after working the last two years at Rewiring America, a left-wing nonprofit dedicated to electrifying everything running on fossil fuels to fight climate change.
Rewiring America was launched in 2020 to “help mobilize America to address climate change and jump-start the economy by electrifying everything.”
Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm cited a study from Rewiring America research associate Talor Gruenwald that falsely blamed gas stoves for childhood asthma to press for electric stoves.
The study was widely panned for its numerous inaccuracies.
Childhood asthma is used to pull at the heartstrings to ban gas stoves versus trying to tell the public they need to be banned to fight climate change.

Thorndike told the Washington Post in 2022 that she didn’t want to have children because of climate change.
She was afraid to “protect them from suffering” awaiting the earth from the climate crisis.
Before Thorndike worked for Rewiring America, she worked on climate policy for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and for the extremist Green New Deal group, the Sunrise Movement.
Rewiring America played a role in helping shape the grossly misnamed Inflation Reduction Act, a $1 trillion slush fund for Green New Deal policies, that passed with Kamala’s tie-breaking vote in the Senate in 2022.
Thorndike said that bill was a starting point for ambitious climate change legislation.
“We are, after all, still in a life-or-death situation for our planet and democracy,” Thorndike told Canary Media.
Kamala is trying to claim that she’s suddenly become more moderate now that she’s running for President.
But she’s keeping close ties to the Green New Deal movement.
