State media ran cover for Democrats amid one growing scandal

Donald Trump is days away from being sworn in as President.

That means the press will wake up and start covering the administration again.

And state media ran cover for Democrats amid one growing scandal.

PBS deflects blame on wildfires

PBS takes taxpayer dollars and pumps out left-wing news content that’s hostile to half the country.

The lone “conservative” on the network is Margaret Hoover, a liberal Republican who relaunched William F. Buckley’s Firing Line.

Recently on PBS NewsHour, White House correspondent Laura Barrón-López ran interference for the Democrats amid criticism regarding the wildfires devastating Los Angeles.

Barrón-López used the fires as an opportunity to attack none other than Donald Trump, not the Democrat leadership in charge of managing the crisis.

Barrón-López said during a panel discussion, “In response to the wildfires, he also pushed out more disinformation, not just calling Newsom ‘Newscum,’ he also lied about Gavin Newsom’s handling of the wildfires. He and Republicans are saying, and his son is saying, that it’s a result of DEI hires across fire departments, that that’s what made wildfires worse.”

Trump did not lie about Newsom’s handling of the fires.

In fact, Trump was critical of the state’s management of water and land months before the wildfires began because these problems were foreseeable.

Trump said during his appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, “They said, ‘We have no water.’ I said, ‘Do you have a drought?’ ‘No, we don’t have a drought.’ I said, ‘Why did you have no water?’ ‘Because the water isn’t allowed to flow down.’ It’s got a natural flow from Canada all the way up north. More water than they could ever use. And in order to protect a tiny little fish, the water up north gets routed into the Pacific Ocean. Millions and millions of gallons of water gets poured. . .”

California dumped excess water after two wet seasons, and now Los Angeles is out of water during a wildfire crisis.

Trump added, “That water could be routed. You know, you could have everything. . .Billions of dollars a year they spend on forest fires. And, you know, there’s a case with the environment. They’re not allowed to rake their forests because you’re not allowed to touch it.”

Dead leaves and brush serve as tinder for wildfires that make them worse.

City official under fire

At the city level, Mayor Karen Bass has come under intense scrutiny for her handling of the crisis.

She dipped out of the country for a trip to Ghana before the outset of the crisis, and has been hit with threats of a recall, not just from frustrated Republicans.

As for Barrón-López’s claim about DEI, the LAFD is at fault for that.

Fire Chief Kristen Crowley said herself that two of her top three priorities were to “promote a safe, healthy, and progressive work environment that effectively manages personal and organizational risk” and to “commit to an organization that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

At the bottom of Crowley’s priority list was to “enhance community resilience, disaster recovery capabilities, and environmental sustainability.”

And Deputy Chief Kristine Larson appeared in an embarrassing video promoting nonsensical DEI goals.

Top to bottom, Democrats are to blame for this problem.

Inserting Trump into the discussion is merely a diversion tactic.
