Kamala Harris thought she could get away with hiding all of her views.
That strategy has not worked.
And Harris made one shocking decision that proves she’s losing to Donald Trump.
Kamala going to Fox News
The Kamala Harris campaign is changing its tactics at the eleventh hour.
That is not a good sign that things are going well.
Harris was content to run out the clock on the 2024 Presidential campaign without answering any challenging questions, but that strategy has run its course.
Harris has been forced to ramp up her interviews with the media in order to catch up to Donald Trump’s number of appearances.
And Harris’ internal polling numbers must not be very good because she made the stunning move to be interviewed by Fox News host Brett Baier.
Fox News reported that “Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris will sit down with Fox News Channel’s chief political anchor Bret Baier for an interview on Wednesday in Pennsylvania. It will be Harris’ first formal interview ever on Fox News.”
Democrats have long demonized Fox News so Harris selecting to go on the network shows that she has a lot of work to do with moderate voters.
Fox News added that “Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, joined ‘Fox News Sunday’ for the second straight week on Sunday as the Democratic ticket has amped up media appearances in recent weeks. . .Harris’ first interview with Fox News comes as she’s stepped up her media appearances, albeit with mostly friendly outlets. While she sat for an interview with ‘60 Minutes’ that has been criticized after the network aired two different answers to the same question about Israel, she followed up with friendly interviews with ABC’s ‘The View,’ Stephen Colbert and Howard Stern last week.”
Friendly press not moving the needle for Harris
The left-wing outlets are of little benefit to Harris because she’s preaching to loyal Democrat voters, and the hosts are not going to ask any challenging questions.
Perhaps the most shameless interviewer was former shock jock Howard Stern.
He has become such a shill for the regime that he was frustrated by Saturday Night Live lampooning Harris in a mild sketch.
Stern said, “When — when you said you don’t nap, I get it because, like, what you’ve taken on is extraordinarily difficult. And I mean, do you feel the pressure of the moment in the sense that — like — I — when I met you out in the hall, I said I’m really nervous because I want this to go well for you. I want it to go well for the country. Even when I watched them on Saturday Night Live with the — um — where they have Maya Rudolph playing you. . .I hate it. I don’t want you being made fun of. I—there’s too much at stake. I believe the entire future of this country right now. I mean, as America, land of the free, home of the brave. I think it’s literally on the line.”
Those comically softball interviews are not cutting it.
Harris is hoping that she can pick up some street cred by doing a more challenging interview.
Baier is not a big fan of Trump so it won’t be the most hardball interview ever seen.
But he won’t be sipping Miller Lite with Harris like Stephen Colbert did.
Harris is going to have answers to real questions.
That has shown to be her Achilles heel.
