The 2024 Democratic National Convention just came to a close, ending with a speech from the Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.
Notable guests included former President Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and a slew of other Democrat politicians from every corner of the nation.
As far as celebrities are concerned, notoriously outspoken liberal performers John Legend, Stevie Wonder, and the Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks) took the stage, with television personality Oprah Winfrey giving her own hostile anti-Trump speech.
However, this lineup failed to impress many convention attendees and viewers, who were expecting performances from the likes of Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
For weeks, rumors flew that Kamala Harris would invite a special unannounced guest to perform Thursday night prior to her acceptance speech.
Taylor Swift and Beyoncé were among the favorites to fill this major spot; however, Kamala Harris spoke without any special guest appearance on Thursday.
This left many viewers feeling betrayed after sitting through the Democratic National Convention for days, hoping to see Taylor Swift or Beyoncé make an appearance.
But for the most part, the convention went on without any major hitches, and police contained most of the violence that raged outside of the convention from anti-Israeli protests.
However, political betting odds shifted slightly in Donald Trump‘s favor during the Democratic National Convention.
Some experts believe that Donald Trump’s persistent media presence helped him to achieve this incredible feat.
Most notably, Donald Trump appeared on the widely listened-to Theo Von podcast, which millions of Gen Z and millennial voters tune into on a weekly basis.
Even more damaging for Democrats, less than 24 hours after the convention, former Democrat Robert Kennedy Jr. suspended
his campaign on Friday, endorsing Donald Trump.
Before announcing the suspension of his campaign, Kennedy excoriated Democrats for subverting Democracy after practically forcing him to run as an independent and nominating Kamala Harris without a proper primary.
The DNC failed to give Democrats any momentum with Election Day just around the corner
Many Americans agree that this year’s Democratic National Convention failed to give Kamala Harris and her fellow Democrats any momentum with Election Day looming.
Instead, Donald Trump made several major media appearances and earned the support of the highest-performing independent Presidential candidate.
In the coming weeks, Kamala Harris will attempt to reach out to even more celebrities to give her campaign a much needed boost as the election cycle heats up.
