Jack Smith had one final message to the public about his lawfare.
He got some more bad news after his spectacular failure.
And Jack Smith was fuming after CNN spoke one truth about him Democrats won’t speak in public.
Jack Smith throws one final temper tantrum over Donald Trump
Former Special Counsel Jack Smith failed in his mission of putting President-elect Donald Trump behind bars before Election Day.
Trump’s victory meant that his work was finished because of a longstanding Justice Department policy not to prosecute sitting Presidents.
Smith resigned as Special Counsel ahead of Trump’s inauguration but he made one final attempt to win in the court of public opinion.
He released a report claiming that he would have convicted Trump if he hadn’t won the election and that his band of rogue prosecutors stood “fully behind” their work.
This was a bitter Smith lashing out after his lawfare failed.
Even CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig was shocked at the unprofessional and emotional conduct from Smith on his way out the door.
“The part that’s unusual, though, is that four-page introductory letter . . . it is an intense, almost emotional defense of Jack Smith’s team,” Honig said. “Now it’s normal to see [a] special counsel say in a couple sentences, ‘my team was very hard working and had high integrity, it was not political.’”
Honig noted that Smith used his letter to go on a tirade and claim that his work was above criticism.
“He goes on a rant, he quotes John Adams, he quotes former attorneys general, and he says the criticism of him as laughable,” Honig said. “And I suppose someone could look at that as an important and necessary example of Jack Smith standing up for his team. On the other hand, though, it’s hard to read that and think that everything that follows is completely separate from emotion and is completely workman-like and has nothing to do with his personal feelings.”
Jack Smith took any criticism of his witch hunt personally
Smith made it a point to claim that the decision to charge made by him and the Biden Justice Department played no role in it.
“And to all who know me well, the claim from Mr. Trump that my decisions as a prosecutor were influenced or directed by the Biden administration or other political actors is, in a word, laughable,” Smith wrote.
The former Special Prosecutor claimed that he was pursuing justice but his actions told a different story.
His team rushed to speed up the timeline of Trump’s case at every turn to get a political show trial started before the election.
Trump has a constitutional right to a speedy trial, not the prosecution.
Smith argued that it was in the public interest to have a speedy trial before the election.
This was because he was supposed to be the Democrats’ ace in the hole to stop Trump.
Now, Jack Smith is sulking after his attempt to use the justice system to destroy a leading Presidential candidate failed spectacularly.
