Democrats weren’t licking their wounds for long after the election.
They’ve already got their eyes on the future.
And J.D. Vance was mad as hell over this secret scheme Democrats have to claw back power.
Census Bureau director grilled over citizenship question
The Census that takes place every 10 years at the beginning of each decade has major political implications.
Electoral Votes that determine the Presidency and Congressional seats are reassigned based on the changes in population in the states.
Illegal aliens are counted in the Census which gives a political advantage to blue states with sanctuary laws that protect them.
Counting illegal aliens distorts political power by giving states like California which have millions of non-citizens more Electoral Votes and House seats.
President-elect Donald Trump tried to add a question to the 2020 Census that asked for citizenship but was blocked after a 5-4 Supreme Court decision in 2019.
Democrats and their media raised hell over the citizenship question because they knew it would take political power away from California, Illinois, and New York.
The next Census is in 2030 but the fight over including a citizenship question on it is ramping up.
Biden’s Census Bureau Director Robert Santos told the House Oversight Committee that asking for citizenship status in the 2030 Census could cause people not to participate.
“There is evidence that adding a citizenship question to the decennial census would dampen participation,” Santos claimed.
Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) ranted that asking about citizenship was motivated by a “conspiracy theory and fearmongering.”
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) revealed that only 89 people in the 2020 Census count of New York kept the state from losing a seat in the House.
Illegal aliens get input on the American political system
Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) compared counting illegal aliens in the Census to giving a squatter a say in the household’s decisions.
“Let’s just take another scenario. … This is the first time we’ve met. You don’t know me, right? We haven’t met before, so I just move in. I squat in your home,” Perry explained. “And I start saying, ‘Look, I think you ought to park your car outside the garage because I’m living in here now.’ Is that going to be acceptable to you?”
“It’s actually irrelevant to why I’m here,” Santos protested.
“That’s exactly what we’re doing in the United States,” Perry fired back.
Comer pointed out the urgency of adding a citizenship question to the Census after the Biden-Harris administration flooded the country with more than 11 million illegal aliens, a number bigger than the population of North Carolina.
“The Biden-Harris Administration facilitated the worst border crisis in American history, allowing millions of illegal aliens to enter and reside in our country unlawfully,” Comer explained. “To ensure only U.S. citizens are counted for the apportionment of congressional seats and electoral college votes, Congress must pass the Equal Representation Act to add a straightforward citizenship question to the Census.”
A fierce battle lies ahead over getting citizenship included in the next Census.
