Gavin Newsom wants to be the leader of the resistance against Donald Trump.
He wants to parlay that into a Presidential bid.
But Gavin Newsom started one fight with Donald Trump that he’s going to live to regret.
California comes with a plan to protect illegal aliens from getting deported
President-elect Donald Trump is set to clash with blue states over his plan to conduct mass deportations of illegal aliens.
California Governor Gavin Newsom is trying to position himself as the archnemesis of Trump to burnish his credentials with Democrat voters ahead of the 2028 Election.
Politico obtained an internal memo from Newsom’s office that revealed that planning is underway to protect illegal aliens in California from being deported.
His office proposed the “creation of an Immigrant Support Network comprised of regional ‘hubs’ to connect at-risk individuals, their families, and communities with community systems — such as legal services, schools, labor unions, local governments, etc.”
The hubs would provide information to illegal aliens and connect them with support services.
California lawmakers have proposed paying for attorneys to represent illegal aliens who are facing deportation.
Former Border Patrol chief rips California’s plan to shield illegal aliens
Former Border Patrol chief Ron Vitiello slammed Newsom for wasting taxpayer money to protect illegal aliens when his state is running massive deficits during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
“This is a state that has some of the highest income taxes in the country, some of the highest sales tax in the country, and there is about a $68 billion deficit. Billion with a ‘b,’” Vitiello said. “And so he’s going to use taxpayer resources to protect who exactly? People who are in the country illegally who broke the law to be there and have also broken the law in the jurisdictions in which they live in California.”
Vitiello noted that voters sent a message this election about solving the illegal immigration crisis.
“So this is destructive leadership shown by Gavin Newsom, and it’s not what people voted for,” Vitiello stated. “It’s not what the people of California need, but that is unfortunately what they have: this terrible leadership in the likes of Gavin Newsom in California, who’s going to destroy that state if he hasn’t already gone a long way to do it.”
He noted that California is “going broke” under the leadership of Newsom.
A budget official with the California State Legislature warned that the state’s budget deficit didn’t leave any room for extra spending.
Newsom called a special session of the legislature to “Trump-proof” his state after the election.
Vitiello accused Newsom of visiting President Joe Biden at the White House to “measure the drapes” ahead of his expected Presidential bid.
President-elect Donald Trump picked former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan to be his “Border Czar.”
Homan warned blue states and cities to “get out of the way” if they try to obstruct the incoming Trump administration’s efforts to deport illegal aliens.
The “Border Czar” has threatened to have politicians who conceal illegal aliens from federal authorities arrested.
Gavin Newsom wants a showdown with the Trump administration over illegal immigration but it might turn out like he expects.
