The Washington, D.C. Swamp has opposed Donald Trump at every step.
But he has begun delivering on his campaign promises.
And Trump struck one massive deal that left Mitch McConnell utterly speechless.
Trump close to ending war in Ukraine
The three-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine recently eclipsed.
Over $200 billion in taxpayer money has gone down the Ukrainian sinkhole.
During the 2024 Presidential campaign, Donald Trump promised to end the war.
And it appears as though he is close to doing so.
Trump negotiated an end to the war that would give Russia the guarantee that Ukraine would not join NATO, but would also give Ukraine a security guarantee in the form of a business partnership regarding mineral rights.
Initially, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky turned down the deal publicly—after agreeing to it privately according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio—but he is now on board.
The Financial Times reported that “Kyiv has agreed terms with Washington on a minerals deal that Ukrainian officials hope will improve relations with the Trump administration and pave the way for a long-term US security commitment. Ukrainian officials say Kyiv is now ready to sign the agreement on jointly developing its mineral resources, including oil and gas, after the US dropped demands for a right to $500bn in potential revenue from exploiting the resources. . .The final version of the agreement. . .would establish a fund into which Ukraine would contribute 50 per cent of proceeds from the ‘future monetisation’ of state-owned mineral resources, including oil and gas, and associated logistics. The fund would invest in projects in Ukraine.”
If all goes according to plan, the agreement would put an end to a war that could have been avoided.
Why it took so long
At the outset of the conflict, warmongering politicians like Sen. Mitch McConnell sold the lie that Ukraine could not only repel Russia, but take back Crimea.
That was always folly.
Russia has a superior military to Ukraine, plus 100 million more people.
The warmongers have been attempting to prolong the war for as long as possible.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly scuttled peace talks back in 2022.
And Tucker Carlson was likely forced out of Fox News for being a hindrance to continued aid to Ukraine.
McConnell admitted as much last May after he was finally able to squeeze through another funding package.
The Financial Times added that “[a]fter three years in which the US was Kyiv’s primary military aid donor, Trump has overturned Washington’s policy by opening bilateral talks with Russia, without any European allies or Ukraine at the table.”
Globalist warmongers were perfectly fine with an endless war where untold billions of U.S. tax dollars continued to fund a stalemate.
In fact, that would have been preferable.
The one time Joe Biden got any considerable heat from the media was when he pulled out of Afghanistan.
According to Permanent Washington, Presidents are not supposed to end wars.
