Democrats are in disarray after Donald Trump’s fast start to his second term.

Tensions are starting to boil over.

And Donald Trump started one Democrat civil war that has the party at each other’s throats.

House Democratic leadership confronts disruptive members during Trump’s speech

President Donald Trump delivered an address to a joint session of Congress that was marred by outbursts from Democrats.

Democrat members held up paddles with lines like “false” and “Musk Steals” that they waved during the speech.

Representative Al Green (D-TX) stood up and yelled at Trump from the aisle while he was waving his cane.

That resulted in him being escorted out of the House chambers and earned him a censure with 10 Democrats joining Republicans in the rebuke.

Trump was interrupted throughout the speech by yelling from Democrats.

Democrat Representatives and Senators turned themselves into one of the stories about the address.

And not in a good way.

Their behavior was widely panned, even on friendly media outlets like MSNBC and CNN.

Democrat elected officials looked like petulant children who couldn’t behave in public.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ (D-NY) sent a letter to his caucus before the speech urging them not to become the story with their protesting.

Axios reported that House Democrat leadership was “very unhappy” with Representatives who disrupted Trump’s speech.

Jeffries and two top lieutenants held a “come to Jesus meeting” with about a dozen House Democrats who took part in the disruptions.

“We are helping them understand why their strategy is a bad idea,” a source told Axios.

Democrats fracture over how to respond to Trump

Trump has moved at breakneck speed to enact his agenda since taking office.

He’s put Democrats on their heels trying to respond.

The party has no message, no leader, and no clear direction of where it wants to go after getting shellacked in the election last year.

Democrat members of Congress are feeling pressure from the party’s base to do something as Trump tries to remake Washington, D.C.

One House Democrat argued the disruptions never would have happened under former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

“Would they have done that to [Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi]? You know the answer: Never,” a House Democrat stated. “So you’ve got to put the hammer down.”

Another predicted that Jeffries would draw a line in the sand moving forward.

“It doesn’t surprise me leadership is very upset. They gave specific instructions not to do that,” another House Democrat added.

A top House Democrat told Axios that the caucus was warring with each other.

Moderate House Democrats are fuming at the far-left wing that led the disruptions.

“People are pissed at leadership too,” the top House Democrat said. “Everyone is mad at everyone.”

U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) summed up the frustrations of Democrats opposed to the disruptions.

“A sad cavalcade of self owns and unhinged petulance. It only makes Trump look more presidential and restrained. We’re becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to—and it may not be the winning message,” Fetterman wrote on X.

Democrats are warring as they fight over the direction of the party.
